Weekly Favourites #33

The week past was a pretty hectic one but on the plus side I did get to wrap it up with the most amazing Clarins facial. I was invited down to the Clarins Spa in the House of Fraser, Glasgow (full list of locations here - link) for a Tri Active Facial and couldn't believe just how tranquil the settings are - you truly forget you are in the middle of a department store. I loved the experience so much that I'm going to try and make it a monthly habit. Anyway on to the beauty products that make the cut this week...

Shockingly (and I do mean that) I have been enjoying a good skin week, my pores have shrunk, I'm blemish free and thanks to healthy eating et al my skin has a glow. Rather than cake it in heavy foundation I dusted off my bottle of MAC Face and Body Foundation and have somewhat understood the hype for once in my life. It offers a light but breathable coverage which you can build up in layers if needed, has a slightly dewy finish but I do find that my oily skin somewhat rejects the formula. It is one of those foundations that I find I need to re-powder every hour or so which is less enjoyable. MAC are renowned for redeveloping their formulas so here's hoping one day a version for oily skin is created? Find it here via the House of Fraser - link.

Once more I am harping on about SPF and again Clinique's Even Better Dark Spot Defense SPF45, I have used this everyday for close to a month now and can truly say that I own no better facial SPF. I live in fear of premature ageing (I want to look young forever dammit) and simply won't exit my house without a facial SPF. In the past lots and I mean lots of sunscreens have broken my skin out in a big way or left me a greasy mess but the texture of Clinique's newest launch is different - so lightweight, gentle on my skin, non-greasy and it doesn't change the texture of any make-up applied on top. Probably the best £26 you'll ever spend. Find it here via Debenhams - link.

A quick shout out to the two skincare products that have helped my skin out recently: Origins Plantscription Youth Renewing Face Oil, sometimes if it has been sunny outside my face feels tight and almost dehydrated in the evening. A few drops of Origins Plantscription Youth Renewing Face Oil and my skin feels as good as new - I like to mix it in with my night cream for an added moisture boost. Find it here via House of Fraser for £38 - link. If you have dark circles (hello lack of sleep) you need to pop into your local Boots store and purchase Super Facialist by Una Brennan Vitamin C Brighten Dark Circles Eye Cream (what a mouthful). I enjoy the thick but light weight texture and find it brightens up my under eye area in next to no time. Find it here via Boots - link.

Lastly although only in my clutches for a mere three days I have been misting on Caudalie's Parfum Divin Caudalie like there is no tomorrow. It is such a light and enjoyable floral fragrance that is perfect for the Spring and a must have for any Caudalie fan. Find it here - link.
