I will confess that nail top and base coats are not my forte sure I own a few but the chances of me actually remembering to use both is slim. I have made a concious effort over the last few months and I have to hand it to Nails Inc their Caviar duo is pretty unbeatable.
Truthfully I only use a base coat for certain polishes, basically any that I think may stain my nails a sexy smokers yellow hue will drive me to slapping on a base coat. The reason I like the Nails Inc Kensington Caviar Base Coat is along with preventing polish from staining my nails it also helps to nourish the nails which is somewhat important to me as a regular gel/acrylic nail wearer. I would be lying if I didn't admit that it also ranks highly purely because it dries quickly - I have zero patience and tacky nails annoys me more than it really should. Now we come to that if you buy one item from this post let it be this segment. Yes I could only be talking about Nails Inc Caviar Top Coat. A glossy, quick drying top coat that not only leaves the nails looking so fresh and glossy that from the first use it is likely that you will be hooked. As mentioned above I have a low tolerance level for nail polish, I want it dry and I want it dry now. After I have applied two thin coats of whatever polish of my choosing I quickly slick this over my nails and I kid you not in less than a minute I am good to go about my daily business. I know a lot of nail buffs out there swear by Seche Viche Dry Fast Coat which does work pretty much in the same vain but in the past I not only found that my bottle dried out with a month or so with more than half the contents intact but on more than one occasion it encourage my nail polish to peel. Not thanks. The only thing I will warn against the Nails Inc Caviar Top Coat is that due to the slight pink tint it is not ideal for over a white polish but other than that I can't fault it. I used to use the Caviar top coat a long time ago but wasn't super impressed. I agree about Seche Vite, my nail varnish always peels when I use it, but I do love how fast it dries and how glossy my nails are. My new favourite top coat is the Mavala Mava Dry, just as quick as Seche Vite with no peeling! Win win in my book.
