Garnier Ultimate Blends The Marvellous Transformer Collection

True story - back in primary school you weren't cool if you didn't pack a bottle of Garnier Fructis Shampoo in your swim bag. To this day that overly citrus hair care line still reminds me of the horror that is swim caps. Needless to say it has been a long time since I used any Garnier hair product but after seeing the new line of Garnier Ultimate Blends prettily arranged in my local supermarket I decided to give the brand a whirl once more.

I don't know if it is just me or what but I think the packaging of the Garnier Ultimate Blends screams Schwarzkopf. Anyway that aside there is six ranges within the line to choose from each of which has been blended with various oils to suit targeted hair types. I settled on the Garnier Ultimate Blends The Marvellous Transformer Collection which has been created for dry and dull hair. Each line has various products but all include a shampoo and conditioner - some have additional masks, oils and even dry shampoos to purchase. I have more hair oils than I know what to do with so I settled on the shampoo, conditioner and one minute mask within the range.

Here's the truth I like the Garnier Ultimate Blends The Marvellous Transformer line but I don't love it - the shampoo is great the added Argan oil prevents my already dry hair from drying completely out with I am grateful for and would most likely repurchase. However the conditioner didn't blow me away I had high hopes considering that it contains two nourishing oils but it was really bog standard - it did the job but only just and to really tame my knot prone hair I did have to follow up with a hefty dose of leave in conditioner. I really did think the One Minute Treatment mask would be a great way to quickly but intensely hydrate my somewhat frazzled ends but again I was left feeling a little underwhelmed - yes it conditions but it's not even on par with Aussie's 3 Minute Miracle. I think if you have normal to fine hair this will particularly branch of the Ultimate Blends range will be ideal it will give your hair a hydrating boost without weighing down your tresses but if like myself you have crazy thick hair it's back to the drawing board.
