One of the newest additions to the Urban Decay Naked dynasty is the Urban Decay Naked Ultra Nourishing Lipglosses. Nine new glossy shades that are permanent with ultra fun shade names which we have all come to expect from Urban Decay...
I know the packaging for most is totally irrelevant but I do have to state that Urban Decay have pulled out all the stops and produced the most beautiful rose gold design. At £18 they look the part and are fairly well designed with a typically doe foot applicator which spreads the somewhat thick gloss onto the lips with ease.
As mentioned there is nine shades to choose from five of which I have been sent to try out: Freestyle - a light almost mauve tinged bronze with a metallic come glittery finish, Liar - a mid toned blue tinged pink, Naked - a light pink based nude that leans bronze and again has a glittery metallic finish, Rule 34 - a cool toned mid nude, Walk of Shame - a cool toned baby pink with glitter. I do have to be brutally honest and say that all five shades I have may swatch on the skin as separate colours but once applied to the lips they all look the same - the pigmentation is seriously lacking and I wouldn't advise purchasing more than one shade for that reason. By all means purchase for the formula but not for the pigmentation.
A little on the formula of the Urban Decay Naked Ultra Nourishing Lipglosses are hydrating thanks to a combination of vitamin e, avocado oil, and shea butter to hydrate but to help plump and fill the lips Urban Decay have included hyaluronic filling spheres. Despite claiming plumping qualities (I can't say I noticed it) the formula is comfortable to wear with a creamy, light weight almost gel like consistency and high-gloss finish coupled with a minty fragrance. I did find the Urban Decay Naked Ultra Nourishing Lipglosses to be hydrating with a reasonable wear time - around 3-4 hours but like I said the pigmentation really lets this formula down. My hopes are that Urban Decay take the Naked franchise into the lipstick category and create a line of nude lipsticks for every skin tone that pack a punch in terms of colour pay off. A girl can only dream eh?
I can't actually find the Urban Decay Naked Ultra Nourishing Lipglosses online in the UK a of yet but a few have spotted them in-store at their local Debenhams.
