It truly doesn't matter what new fangled top or base coat I apply, if I plump for a gel polish or a glitter within a matter of hours it will chip. I don't consider myself to typically be hard on my hands but my nails clearly tell a different story. When I was sent a few bottles of CND Vinylux Weekly Polishes to try I have to say I was intrigued yet doubtful at the same time.
To the naked eye the CND Vinylux Weekly Polish looks and applies like a typical nail polish. It doesn't require setting with a lamp, numerous coats or a mystical spell. Simply slick on as you would any normal nail polish, allow to dry and apply a second coat if needed. And that my friends is where the comparison ends to normal polish as the CND Vinylux Weekly Polish has a thicker texture that glides on the nails with ease thanks to a wonderful brush. It dries quickly and not only looks like a gel polish but feels like one to -by that I mean it has a certain strength and flexible quality.
So what exactly is CND Vinylux Weekly Polish?
It is said to be an innovative system which includes a self-adhering Color Coat that eliminates the need for Base Coat that becomes more durable over time with exposure to natural light. It has also been reported that in consumer testing of hundreds of manicures, more than 80 percent of clients had no chipping after seven days. It should be noted that for such results you should use the CND Vinylux Weekly Polish Top Coat which I do not have nor did I know about it until doing a little research...whoops. Needless to say without the top coat my manicure didn't quite last a full week but it was still going strong on the third day which is nothing short of amazing in my case. In my opinion the CND Vinylux Weekly Polishes are the perfect middle ground between a typical nail polish and a gel cured polish. You get the longevity, the high sheen finish but the ease of a typical paint on polish that can be removed with normal nail polish remover and most importantly it isn't as pricey.
The three shades I was sent are: Lilac Longing - a mid toned typical lilac, Tinted Love - a berry toned red and Red Baroness - another berry toned red but with a metallic finish. If you struggle with nail polish chipping this is a formula worth looking into. I will purchase the CND Vinylux Weekly Polish Top Coat and then wear the polish for a full week documenting each day.

This polish line is intriguing. Thanks for the introduction, I think I may have to try a bottle. I love the durability of gel manicures but hardly use mine because I feel trapped to the color. This will allow me to change colors easier.

ReplyDeleteI have just tried this polish out and thought it was brilliant. My polish lasted 5 days without chipping. I went for the married to mauve colour but I'm definitely going to get some more colours. Which was your favourite? Check out my blog post
