Ever wondered how the Olsen twin's keep their hair in tip top shape?
Well wonder no more as their hairdresser Mark Townsend has divulged just how the twin's protect and nourish their hair in one quick step and the great news is that the ingredients are fairly easy to find and kind on the pocket too!
"I recently made up a conditioner for the girls to take with them on their vacations and told them to put it in their hair before swimming and while in the sun; it was coconut oil, almond oil, jojoba oil and vitamin E. All things I picked up at the health food store! When they got back, they both asked me for more and I could feel a huge difference in their hair. They use it a couple times a week and leave it in for up to an hour." - Mark Townsend
What you will need:
Coconut oil ( I use two heaped tablespoon's for my long, thick hair)
Almond oil ( I use half a tea spoon)
Jojoba oil ( I use half a tea spoon)
Vitamin E ( I use half a tea spoon)
Instructions
Basically all you have to do is combine the ingredients above and slather over the hair, leave for up to an hour and wash out. I do recommend using this before shampooing the hair as it is an oil based concoction and may leave the hair feeling lank and greasy if not rinsed out properly.
I find that for the best hair mask consistency it is best to use equal parts oils but measure out the Coconut oil in the same way you would approach a typical hair conditioning mask.
It is a good enough hair mask that does help dry hair I just have my doubts that the Olsen twins sit at home on a Sunday with it bunged on their head while watching Friends re-runs somehow...
This sounds amazing, I love home made stuff so I'll definitely be giving this a go. Coconut oil seems to be everywhere at the moment! x

I will have to use this next time I wash my hair. :)
ReplyDeleteI'm currently sitting with coconut oil on my hair! I might try adding these as my hair seems to be getting used to coocnut oil. I normally leave it on overnight and wash it out in the morning, it seems to work better for me!
