I don't tend to buy into blemish solving products as past experience has dictated that they don't really work out as far as my skin is concerned. So it was with rock bottom expectations that I used Origins Spot Remover Blemish Treatment Pads but since nothing else was shifting a large blemish on my forehead I thought why not! Well, well was I proved wrong!
As you may have guessed the Origins Spot Remover Blemish Treatment Pads are closely based on their award winning Origins Super Spot Remover Blemish Treatment Gel. I do want to stress that I have not tested such gel so for the time being I can not offer any for of comparison but I do plan on purchasing the gel later on in the month so in due course I will put the products head to head. The Blemish treatment pads are small circular cotton pads which have been immersed in a blemish busting liquid. One side of the pad is flat and the other has a slightly rougher texture that combined with the low percentage of Salicylic Acid provides a gentle exfoliating factor as well as helping clear up and dry out blemishes - other ingredients include Clove and Oregano which are said to unclog pores and Saw Palmetto to minimizes excess oil production and to prevent future breakouts. To use you swipe the pad over any affected area after cleansing both in the am and pm. If used daily you will be using two pads which in theory does mean that every 30 days you will be coughing up £23 for a new pack of pads, for that reason I do think the gel would be better value for money and I have read that it is more concentrated too - how true that is I don't know.
I'm sure most came to find out if the Origins Spot Remover Blemish Treatment Pads work and the truth is yes and quickly. Now I'm not going to state that these will solve acne as that would be foolish of me but for the odd hormonal breakout these nifty little pads quickly go to work to dry out the blemish in record time and significantly reduce such problem in size. Within two days of use my annoying friend on my forehead has gone - I now keep these pads safely squirreled away at the back of my bathroom cabinet ready to wage a war against any future blemishes should they rear their ugly heads!

I've never tried the on the spot remover as it doesn't quite tempt me enough yet, but these blemish pads look rather nice in comparison to the typical drugstore ones - might check them out the next time I'm out

These are amazing, even though they are expensive they would be good to save for major breakouts:) Cant wait to see your review on the gel

These sound really great but I think you're right in saying that the gel would probably be a better value. I think they'll be good if you have the odd spot but if you continually have them you'd have to keep repurchasing.

I've tried the gel and it works amazing but this would be great to use as well as it will exfoliate. Thanks for letting us know about them :)

I haven't heard anything good about these before now, the little pot of lotion gets rave reviews but I much prefer the idea of using a pad, it sounds a lot more handy! x
ReplyDeleteI didn't even know Origins made these, but now I'm very intrigued! Love the fact they come in a pad, it makes it so much easier! Thanks for the great review :) ♥

These do seem expensive if you were to be using them everyday but i think theyd be great for having just for when you're breaking out. I've tried the gel though and i didn't really get on with it so as good as these sound i'd be a little wary of buying them for myself in case i dont get on with them either!

Ahh I sampled these, and they are horrible! Burnt my skin! :/ The gel itself in the teeny weeny bottle is a lot better.

This product sounds great, I want the gel but the bottle is tiny!

definitely want to try these when i'm through with other products.. you could always try to cut the pads in half and use a half in the am and the other in the pm? especially if you're breaking out in smaller areas? i usually try to do that with things like this that can be spendy if used everyday.
ReplyDeleteI've been dying to try the Blemish Treatment gel forever, have heard such good things! But the pads look really good too!

I love the concept of these but they're far too pricey for me!
ReplyDeleteConcept is interesting, as above comment, but agree that they would have to be on offer for me to purchase really..
