As you may or may not know in the last nine months (gosh this year has flown by) I have went from black hair to blonde with several trips to the hairdressers leaving my hair somewhat more fragile than before.
Bleaching is of course not the kindest thing you can do to your hair but certain types of brushes and brushing your hair when wet can also damage your hair. Yikes! If you want to take care of your hair as best you can I highly suggest switching to a tangle teezer style brush to minimise breakage and stress.
I have long, thick natural wavy hair that tangles very easily which does make brushing a complete nightmare - no-one looks forward to yanking knots out their hair nor do they enjoy getting a brush stuck at the back of their head either. At the moment I am using the No Tangle brush by Macadamia Natural Oil's. The No Tangle Brush has a unique 'flex bristle' design to easily diffuse tangles and is gentle enough to be used on chemically treated, coloured hair, hair extensions as well as being suitable for wet hair. Basically this is an all in one brush that will suit nearly everyone.
Why this version over a typical tangle teezer? Pure and simple the design - the large easy to grip handle is so much easier to pull through the hair and gives me much more control which I need having long hair. Is it painless like it claims? No but nothing is as far as my hair is concerned and I will admit that it is not nearly as painful as a comb! It's quick, easy and gentle what else could you ask for? A discount you say? Well the No Tangle brush by Macadamia Natural Oil is currently on sale for £6.80!

I've had this for a while and my hair is so nice now, so few split ends!! <3
ReplyDeleteI bought this a month or so ago and it's absolutely fantastic - one of the best things I've ever done for my hair :o). Xx

I have the tangle teezer and I have to admit sometimes I do long for the added control of a handle (though it does make it bag friendly...I guess that's the trade you make!)
ReplyDeleteThis brush really wins out on looks though - I love the colours!

OH MY STARS! I have been wanting one of these things! My daughter has thick wavy hair and it's a pain in the butt to get the knots out! Thanks for this! I will be purchasing one!
ReplyDeleteJust bought this!
ReplyDeleteI've heard about this brush before and reading your blog post just now gave me the encouragement I needed. Looking forward to see how this compares to the tangle teezer.

I have been using this for a while and i really like it the only negative thing i have about it is that for me it dosen't get out all the tugs at the crown but i do have very thick hair! It is a great brush though. xx
ReplyDeleteI need a brush like this! My hair is very long and think and I just hate it when normal brushes snag!

I wish they sold either brush in the US! My poor thick tangly hair would probably love it. Next time I am in London I am going to hoard everything.

I have a mini tangle teaser so maybe I could add this as my full-time brush! Sounds good!

I currently have blacked dyed hair (for around 3 or so years) and as a natural blonde I'm now desperate to go back - I would love to learn more about how you went from black to blonde. If you have time please could you get in touch? I'm at @GeorginaFox_ or georgina.fox22@gmail.com!
ReplyDeleteThanks :)
I had one without the handle and loved it but disliked that it didn't have a handle. I am not sold on this handle either. Ughhhh, I hope they make it on a regular brush handle. I'd buy it in a heartbeat.
ReplyDeleteI have such a knotty problem with my hair so this is looking very appealing :) ♥

I think I need to try this! I have thick, wavy hair naturally & it loves to get tuggy after a day at work.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the suggestion!

May have to invest in this. My hair is badly damaged after dyeing it brown from black, so anything to prevent further damage is a god send! Really enjoying your posts of late, been taking your word as gospel!

I bought this at a bloggers event in Birmingham a couple of months ago and now I can't live without it! I've never owned one of the original Tangle Teasers but I know I'd never go and buy one because this has the handle, which means you have more control brushing the hair.
ReplyDeleteNot only do I love this brush, but my boyfriend does too as it feels nice on the scalp and smooths our hair lovely. :)

Wow, I need this..., like you I have started having highlights and also trying to grow my hair too, so want to keep it in the best condition I can. This looks like a goody!.

Thanks for this. I have been looking for a no tangle brush for my wife.
ReplyDeleteMy daughter is growing into a woman and loves to do her hair. I think that I might get her one of these no tangle brushes to do her hair with.
