First of all if you happen to like this shade and live in the UK worry not as Maybelline Color Tattoo in Pomegranate Punk is simply Metallic Pomegranate - no I don't fully understand why brands rename products depending on the location. Surely one name suits all...especially if it is not being translated into another language non?
The packaging of the Maybelline Color Tattoo 24hour eyeshadows is very akin to the Mac Paint Pots - a transparent thick jar with a screw on black lid and this exactly the same for both the UK and U.S editions.
I'm not entirely sure if the jar is plastic or glass but either way it is sturdy and does the job just ensure you keep the lid firmly screwed on in order to not allow the product to dry out and I wouldn't recommend popping these in your carry on luggage just in case. I do think the packaging is misleading as the base acts like a magnifying glass, giving the illusion that there is more product than the 4g's...very sneaky!
As a neutral fan I didn't expect to like Maybelline Color Tattoo in Pomegranate Punk half as much as I do but my oh my is it a beauty and perfect for the upcoming Autumn. Pomegrante Punk is a deep reddened brown with tiny flecks of golden shimmer and reminds me of MAC Cranberry Eyeshadow in cream form.
Speaking of which this makes a great base for such shade to help intensive the colour pay off and prolong the wear too. If you have blue or green eyes you need either Pomegranate Punk or MAC Cranberry eyeshadow in your life asap as it makes the eyes pop like no other.
The Maybelline Color Tattoo 24hr Eyeshadows share more than packaging in common with Mac Paint Pots! The formula is also freakishly similar - a solid cream eyeshadow that instantly melts within contact of the heat of skin. Personally I use this kind of product as an eyeshadow base but they can be utilized
as an all over wash of colour, an eye liner and of course as a base as I mentioned above...not bad for £5!
In the past I wore the formula for 12 around hours (nowadays I'm lucky if I wear make-up for longer than 8 hours) before I experienced any creasing, the idea of wearing make-up for 24 hours is not appealing to me but I do want to stress that the Maybelline Color Tattoos are very long wearing all the while being light and comfortable on the skin and a great pocket friendly alternative to Mac Paint Pots not to mention they do have a good shade range too!

As soon as I saw this a month or so ago I knew I had to have it in my life, so I got it - but haven't got a clue what to do with it. I guess the key is in the blending so that it doesn't jump out to much, but it's truly amazing!

I've not tried these, but the colour is lovely and the idea of non-creasing eye colour is very appealing to me! Think I need to check these out :)

That colour is amazing! I do find that I prefer the Benefit ceaseless creams to the MAC paint pots though, not sure why but I just find myself reaching for them in the morning!

ReplyDeletethis is a gorgeous color! i've been debating whether or not to get it because it looks so scary and red in the ugly drugstore lighting but these swatches have convinced me otherwise... perhaps when it feels more like autumn/winter i will trek out to get my hands on it!

I have the Maybelline 24hr Tattoo in Rose Gold and I love applying it as a base or eyeliner, and this colour is just gorgeous, any mention of pomegranate and I am on board. Definitely will be one of my beauty investments for the fall, and maybe the MAC Cranberry too.....? H x

I love this shade with my brown eyes. Really pretty. Also, the "tough as taupe" shade is awesome as a brow filler for dark eyebrows.
ReplyDeleteI love this shade, I have just bought the On&On shade a couple of weeks ago and I am soon to make a review on it. I haven't been blogging for very long but I would love to get into it.
ReplyDeleteLovely review on this shade :)) xx

I have all the shades of colour tattoos in my kit. A bit shimmery for pro use but when blended with matte shades like mac paint pots they are perfect for the studio. Love this shade especially for blue and green eyes x williamspromakeup.blogspot.com
