The older I become (god you'd think I was in my fifties not my twenties the way I harp on) the more important skin care has become to me. Before I would purchase anything and everything without a second thought and hope for the best but now a little more thought goes into each skincare purchase. Of course having said that I am by no means an expert and forever learning but that is the fun part isn't it?
I am about to embark on a new care routine complete with a new gadget (i'm such a tease eh!) but before I do that I thought I would share my favourite cleansers and why they make the grade.
Like most I have different cleansers for different occasions but most mornings when I pop into the shower I use Biore's Blemish Fighting Ice Cleanser as it is a great wake-up call. As it contains Sallcylic Acid which helps to reduce the size of any existing blemishes as well as preventing future ones from ever appearing!
The "ice" element as well as being refreshing and sometimes a cooling shock to the system helps to reduce any redness to the skin which is prefect for those like myself who are currently a little weather beaten.
When I come home in the evening my weapon of choice to remove the bulk of my make-up is Clarins Water Comfort Cleanser which is essentially an micellar water. I soak a few cotton pads with this non-oily liquid, quickly swipe them all over my face and quickly rustle up my evening meal.
I'm one of those people who can not relax at home without a clean face but want quickness, rather than use make-up wipes I reach for this liquid which is great for most skin types despite being labelled normal to dry. I have very oily skin and this does not upset my skin in the slightest. If you are looking for a good water based cleanser that you can use in a hurry make your way to your local Clarins counter and snag a bottle of this up!
I promised myself I wouldn't become addicted to Clarins Instant Eye Make-Up Remover and that I would use the gentle version the most even if it required a little extra work. Well I lied to myself Clarins Instant Eye Make-Up Remover is the best eye make-up remover I have used EVER!
I simply shake the duo-phase formula soak two cotton pads and lightly swipe over my eyes and I kid you not when I say it lives up to the instant claim, I have never known any product to remove mascara like it.
The only slight niggle is that it is quite oily and I do find that after each use I have to give my eye area a quick wipe with a wet flannel afterwards but that is a small price to pay giving how fast working it is.
Those like myself who have a penchant for a good few coats of mascara rather than the obligatory two need this in their lives asap!
I don't know about you but I can not sleep unless I have fully and properly cleansed my face...oh how I have changed since my days of wet wipes!
As many will know by now my holy grail cleanser is Clairns Pure Melt Cleansing Gel which is oil based but my gosh does it deeply cleanse without stripping the skin nor does it over hydrate my oily/problematic skin.
To use I simply massage a fifty pence blob of the cleanser on to dry skin, leave for 30 seconds then wipe off using a warm, wet muslin cloth and hey presto squeaky clean skin.
I honestly can not recommend it enough and I think, well last count anyway I am now on my sixth tube!
What are your must have cleansers?

I saw that Biore cleanser in boots and thought it looked good. I have acne so it's important for me not to keep changing cleansers and stick to the same one, I am currently using lush 'fresh farmacy' but I think I may give this a go when I finish it. xx
ReplyDeleteI really wanted to try the Biore cleanser.. but I am so lazy, I prefer not having to rinse it off. I love their pore strips though, so I can imagine this is a beaut! xx
