I have to be honest and say that I was never all that enamoured by Kate Moss's first lipstick line
with Rimmel, the shades were nothing special and the formula was average.
However the new matte lip shades are all I want from a lipstick and more,
with a pocket friendly price tag I couldn't say no to a few shades!
The packaging of the matte Kate Moss lipsticks is slightly different from the original offerings,
this time around they come in matte red packaging that I find pretty festive
and of course feature Kate's signature on the lid.
"New Lasting Finish Matte by Kate Moss.Kate Moss brings colour to a new unique dimension.
The gorgeous colour richness and COMFORT of Kate’s lipstick, now in a Velvety MATTE finish.Ruby Powder enriched formula to intensify the colour while keeping a matte finish all day long!
Matte is re-invented for the most velvety comfortable colour EVER!"
Within the line there is five shades two of which I have to share...
Kate Moss for Rimmel Matte Lipsticks in shade 101
101 is a dusky blue toned pink that does translate to an almost mauve shade when applied to the lips,
101 is cool in tone but it does give the appearance of whiter teeth.
This reminds me a little of MAC's Snob but a little deeper in tone.
Kate Moss for Rimmel Matte Lipsticks in shade 110
This shade is a bright orange tinged red that is
most akin to MAC's Lady Danger but is not as matte in finish, however it is a decent enough
dupe with a much more affordable price tag!
Despite claiming to be matte in formula when applied both shades have a light moisturising texture
that is extremely comfortable to wear with sweet type of scent (sweets/candy).
However I do have to note that they are not completely matte and do have a slight sheen finish
but they do give a rich even velvet coverage and presented no problems in terms of colour pay off.
Wear time was pretty average with around 3 hours of even coverage before fading set in.
Kate Moss for Rimmel Matte Lipstick £5.49/4g and are available at most Rimmel stockists.
these look so nice, i want them!!:)

DeleteOooh I'm glad you've said that 110 is a dupe of Lady Danger as I was going to get both but think I'll save my pennies and just get the rimmel! I have 107 which is a beautiful colour :) x
ReplyDeleteI'm glad I save you some money in that case :)
DeleteI absolutely love these. I have the shade 107, it's gorgeous. I'll definitely be buying 101 too xx

Money well spent :)
DeleteI have shade 101 and i loveee it!
ReplyDeleteSophierosehearts x
It's one of my favs too :)
DeleteJust wondering, have you tried it with lipcote over the top? I prefer wearing matte lipsticks with lipcote because it will last longer, but lipcote only works with lipsticks that aren't really moisturising x
ReplyDeletelipsticksandheels.wordpress.com
I havent but they are pretty creay so I don't think it would work all that well sadly!
DeleteWow 101 is gorgeous!! Its too bad theyre not cruelty free :(
ReplyDeleteSorry to hear that :(
DeleteI love the pink colour but you're right def not matte. The packaging is gorgeous so may have to pick up a few...stocking fillers ;) xx
ReplyDeleteWhoever gets those are very lucky indeed :)
DeleteLooks nice the red one, a little too orangey for me. I will see if there's a red with blue undertones in the collection and try to find here :)
ReplyDeleteI like this kind of matte lipsticks, not totally matte but not drying...
There is another red in the line which id definitely more Papish friendly ;)
DeleteLove them both..I have a couple of Rimmel Kates that O quite like so I'm looking forward to snatching up a few of these..x

Hi,
ReplyDeleteThose two shades I've been dying to get! They look lovely on you.
I bought and reviewed 113 the peach nude shade which is really nice and works well with a tan.

Love shade 110 it'll be great for my latest red lipstick phase :L 101 Looks lovely on you, though it wouldn't suit my tone x

I NEED #101! I love MAC Snob and it also looks a tad similar to Revlon Super Lustrous Lipstick in Primrose, which is one of my favorites.
ReplyDeleteI'm also interested in the nude (#113, i believe) that's also in this collection! Can't wait to get my hands on them!

Absolutely love the Kate Moss lipsticks - they're such good value for money! I find my 03 Blush goes on nicer than my MAC Cremesheen. Haven't been daring enough to try the bright pink yet but it's definitely my next purchase. Although now I'm tempted to buy the 110 because that's a gorgeous colour. Great review by the way :) x
