Glossybox October 2012 Edition - Review

My Glossybox landed on my wet doorstep yesterday and as it is based all around pampering yourself
it really couldn't have came at a better time.
Truthfully I'm a little underwhelmed by this months box and don't really deem it to be all that pampering
however there is one or two lovely products contained within so all is not a loss!

Anatomicals Don't Just Clean It Woman, Scrub It - Body Scrub 75ml Scrub
Now this is going to sound greedy but as the full 200ml size of this bottle retails for £3.49
I do think the full size should have been included but I guess that may not have been possible
or perhaps it weighs too much?
That aside I have used this in the shower this morning and it is a lovely punchy bright grapefruit scented product that does buff the skin, leaving it smooth and beautifully scented.

Yves Rocher France Instant Anti-Wrinkle Moisturiser - Full Size 30ml/£18
At the moment I'm a little young for this kind of product so I have passed it on to my mother
but I can say it is a light silky serum like product that contains Hyaluronic Acid for speedy results
coupled with a yummy fresh cucumber scent.

Skinetica Anti- Blemish Treatment 10ml Sample
Since switching to Clarins Cleansing Melt Gel my skin has been blemish free and so much better for it
so this treatment which is aimed at clearing up spots, blemishes and acne isn't really required
but as it claims to do so in 2-3 days it is well worth keeping aside as i'm sure a nasty blemish will rear it's head sooner rather than later!

Green People Organic Self Tan 20ml Sample
Sadly my bottle arrived half full due (it leaked in transit but these things happen time to time)
so there is not enough to test out without looking odd...one tanned leg anyone?
However I may revisit this product come the summer months as it promises a quick drying, non greasy
application without the dreaded biscuit scent!

Sally Hansen Complete Salon Manicure in Black Platinum Full Size £6.99/14.7ml
With Halloween on it's way I'm sure I will have more than one use for this black with silver pearl effect
nail polish, it is a lovely spin on a classic black shade and as it offers a base coat, strengthener, growth
treatment, colour and top coat in one you can't really go wrong!

So what did you think of this months box?

Glossybox* is a monthly subscription service which you can find out more about here - link

  1. I wish I'd got the black nail varnish - I only had 4 items xx

  2. At least you actually got "5 luxury samples" so to speak. Some of us only got 4 items in our boxes.

Unfortunately for me, this months Glossybox has finalised my decision to cancel my subscription!

I'd have been much happier if I'd received what you got, especially that SH nail varnish ;) Love the colour.

    1. I had the same problem and it was just a mistake. Just send them a message and they should send you another product. I got two sent to me! Admittedly it was not the Sally Hansen I was supposed to get but at the end of the day it is better than nothing!

  6. I got almost all the same products, except I got a BB cream instead of fake tan. I also got a bright shimmery blue polish, but seeing as I really don't wear blue this black would have been perfect! But, I'm happy! Xx

  8. I was a 4 item person, but was actually thrilled. One of the items was a 3 piece skincare set, with all products being reasonably sized. I think people need to remember that it's only £10!!

  13. I received the 4 products and two of them were products that I have previously been sent by Glossy Box! Major dissapointment x

  15. I only got the body scrub and the blemish thing the same as yours but again it was a bit underwhelming. Olay for the second month in a row aswell!

  16. I got the exact same things as you but a different colour nail polish. At first I was disappointed as I'd seen some of the things other people got but now after trying things I've decided I love it. Especially the moisturiser, I always use anti-wrinkle products as I believe prevention is more important than waiting til you have wrinkles then dealing with them. Hoping the blemish thing will be great too! Only thing I'm confused by is the tan stuff, I wasn't sure if it was fake tan or something to keep your tan intact. So I tried a little on my forearm and it shows no change in colour the next day so I'm assuming the latter? :S Confused.

  17. Still waiting on mine... not even a shipping confirmation yet, but I usually get it fairly near the end of the month, so I'm not too worried. I actually picked up one of those Sally Hansen polishes on sale last week in a really nice canteloupe-nude shade, so I hope I get something different!

  19. Its a shame what you got as I got the Anatomicals Body Scrub, a full size Mini 3 step Dermalogica set, Yves Rocher Red Lipstick and Anti Blemish lotion. This seems like itd suit better? How come they vary, theyve taken the option of the beauty profile to specify which type of products you like so they should be the same?! xxxxxx

  20. Hi,
I got similar products apart from the self tan- I had the BB cream, which I'm really happy with. It was my frist glossybox and I decided to continue the subscription.

  21. When I opened mine I wasn't overly impressed (same products as you but my polish has red sparkles through it) however I'm really impressed by the Yves Rocher cream & the nail polish. The self tan isn't really my bag but the blemish lotion may come in handy. I needed some body scrub & it's a decent enough size sample to give a proper road test. Could have been worse but the box Kate recieved sounds more my style!

  22. I signed up early October with the 3 months subscription. To date I have not received a box (useless courier service) but the worst part is the Customer Service. I have never experienced such a bad experience.
A month after the October box should have been delivered, they still don't refund or send to another address because it hasn't reach their warehouses. Makes no sense at all and they couldn't care less about it.
Obviously cancel my subscription but I imagine it would be months before they refund the money.
