Stila eyeshadow in Kitten is held in high esteem in the beauty world
so I couldn't pass up the chance to test out the lip gloss of the same moniker,
could this be the one gloss to change my opinions on gloss forever?
Let's find out shall we...
Stila Lip Glazes come presented within a long slim transparent tube which features a brush applicator
and to dispense the product you simply wind up the bottom to push the gloss up through
the brush applicator and then on to the lips.
The great thing about the built in brush is you can apply with minimal fuss
and it saves the trouble of sourcing a separate lip brush.
Within the Stila Lip Glaze range there is 20 different shades but as mentioned I have the shade Kitten,
which is a light yet bright golden shade that has a slight hint of pink resulting in it almost being rose
gold...almost but not quite.
The shade is quite warm but as it is a gloss it will work with your natural lip hue rather than masking it
and for that reason alone it is pretty universal.
It should be noted that Kitten is a frost/shimmer shade and does look best layered
over another lip shade rather than worn alone.
In terms of texture I find the Stila Lip Glazes to be rather thick and quite sticky,
for that reason I can't really deem them to be all that comfortable
but when applied over a lipstick or balm it does seem to settle a little and doesn't seem quite
so tacky in texture but none the less it is not something I recommend for a windy day.
That being said I did find the lasting power to be pretty substantial for a gloss
and found it to wear for just over two hours before requiring a touch up.

I hardly ever wear gloss but this is a really pretty shade. I keep meaning to get the Kitten shadow.

thank you :) i love kitten in shadow form it is a fab highlight x
ReplyDeleteI adore this gloss! For me, as someone who suffers with easily chapped lips, it really moisturises them. I find this with all Stila glosses. Kitten is such a pretty golden colour too, great with a tan :)
ReplyDeleteAh i'm glad to hear it does that and will have another go if my lips become chapped thanks for the tip :)
DeleteI don't really own glosses as I hate the sticky feeling. This product looks great however. I love the colour and the gold shimmer. It's something I'd pair with a peach lipstick or something like that.

I'm the same, I adore matte lips but I agree that this would look fab over a peach gloss :)
