If you are lucky enough to live in the US/Canada then the Revlon Photo Ready Cream Blushes will be old news to you but as they have yet to hot the UK/Europe? shores ( I believe they are due to launch later this month) I thought I'd share these with my readers who have yet to discover them.
In the US/Canada three shades were launched - Coral Reef (bright red based coral) Flushed (fuchsia pink) and Pinched (light peach). How many will hit the shelves in the UK I do not know, only time will tell but as there is only three shades perhaps for once Revlon will indulge us and launch all three shades...fingers crossed.
The first thing that struck me about the Revlon Photo Ready Cream Blushes was the packaging, it is so similar to the recent MAC MAC Casual Colour Lip and Cheek Creams and the Bobbi Brown Rouge Pots not only in appearance but also in size only I would imagine that unlike MAC and Bobbi Brown when these do launch they will have a smaller price tag.
I bought two of the three shades via eBay (sadly the seller I bought these from has none currently listed but a quick search should find you similar international sellers) - the two shades I went for are Coral Reef which I will review in a moment and Pinched, I decided against Flushed as pink blushes rarely make an appearance in my make-up bag.
Coral Reef is of course a bright Coral shade and in this instance it is a blend of bright orange and red.
Sadly the formula and texture of the Revlon Photo Ready Cream Blushes is fairly thin so you do have to layer the shade on to achieve a good dose of coverage - that being said i'm sure lighter skin tones will have no problem with the colour pay off but mid-deep skin tones will have to layer this shade on.
I found the texture to be thin, soft, silky and when applied it settles to a semi matte finish which is very natural in appearance and worked well with my oily skin, I do however feel that this formula may cling to dry patches. In terms of application I found the formula/texture to lend itself well both brush and finger application, in terms of wear Coral Reef wore for around 9 hours on my oily skin which I was more than satisfied with.
Are you excited for the Revlon Photo Ready Cream Blushes to launch in the UK?
I really hope these come out in Australia soon! I've had my eye on Flushed because it seems like a gorgeous fuschia colour. I'm so keen on cream blushes atm, I'm glad Revlon are coming out with more :) xx
ReplyDeletecannot WAIT to get my mitts on these!
ReplyDeleteHow funny you posted about this product. I picked one up in Sueprdrug yesterday! I could see there were two slots for two products but I only saw (and picked up) the super strong pink. I still have it in the bag so I cannot say how they wear...but from your swatches they look nice :)
ReplyDeleteI need to go on a hunt for the coral one now! X
Thanks for the heads up! These will probably be available next year in Australia here.. no joke :(
ReplyDeleteThis looks really nice. Revlon are launching some great products lately :) x
ReplyDeleteOh my, Revlon are doing so well in creating very good dupes for the higher end brands of make up. First it was their just bitten sticks and now these cream blushers. I must admit that these swatches are really good and it seems like they are very pigmented. I will definitely check these out when they launch in the UK because i think the price would be alot better than MAC or Bobbi Brown. Thanks for sharing~x

Revlon is my all time favourite 'drugstore' brand, such good quality! I can't wait to pick some of these up, as well as some of the Just Bitten Kissable Lip Stains! This colour is so pretty, great swatches xx

Great post and swatches! I was in Superdrug the other day and they only had 2/3 shades with NO testers, wish I had done some research before venturing out! But they're only £5.99 on offer :)

I picked up 'Pinched' the other day and I love it. However I can't seem to find this shade anywhere even though it's on the Revlon UK website! :(

Oh dying to try these, Revlon are really ace at the moment!
ReplyDeleteThese sound really interesting. I'm currently using a Bobbi Brown cream blush, I'm a recent convert to cream...but I'm finding the Bobbi Brown one doesn't last so well, great to hear this one lasts for a good 9 hours. I'll be looking to try it when it lands in the UK! x
ReplyDeleteYup just to clarify hun these are in superdrug stores for definite along the kissable balm stains because I walked passed and did a double take, then spent a good half an hour oggling them, i refrained from buying ay though as I really don't need anymore makeup but they are so pretty :(

Coral Reef sounds lovely, but Pinched may be better for my skin tone. It'll be interesting to see with they release in the UK :-)
ReplyDeleteFlushed sounds like the one for me :) I love cream blushes... can't wait to try these ones! xx
ReplyDeleteThis looks gorgeous, I have oily skin so the semi-matte finish is perfect for me, and I'd choose the same two shades as you, hopefully they will both be brought to the UK xx
ReplyDeletein love with this shade! need it!
