As you may know the Beth Ditto collaboration with Mac launched a little over a week ago
but with the Royal Jubilee celebrations Britain pretty much came to a stand still
and my goodies only hit my door step yesterday morning so apologies that some of the items
I have to show may well have sold out by now!
This is actually my first dabble into the Pro Longwear Lipcreme's arena but needless to say they
come packaged in a style very typical to Mac - sleek, black and matte !
I prefer the slim style of this lipstick and find the closure between the lid and body
to be a little more sturdier compared to the chubby bullet style lipsticks that Mac are famous for.
Mac Dear Diary is officially described as a "Neon Pink" which I can not argue with at all
but to go that further I will state that this is a deep neon pink rather than a candy toned hue.
It is fairly blued toned resulting in the overall shade being slightly cool in tone
but not so much that you have to worry about it clashing with your skin tone.
Inevitably Dear Diary will draw comparisons to Mac Candy Yum Yum but Candy Yum Yum
is brighter, slightly cooler in tone and is more neon but yes they are more than similar
and one to pick up (if you can) if you missed out on the now cult shade that is Candy Yum Yum.
The formula of this shade is something else, it glides on with such ease
and is really comfortable to wear which has not always been the case with long wearing lip products.
It feels light and hydrating coupled with Mac's typical vanilla scent.
The closest formula I can liken these to is Mac Amplified finish in their standard lipstick line
but if said formula had been refined and boosted, the pigmentation is amazing and offers full opaque
coverage in one swipe so lovers of full on loud colour should definitely check this formula out!
The finish begins off with a semi glossy sheen and eventually fades to a semi matte finish.
Mac claim that the Pro Longwear Lipcreme formula should wear for around 12 hours
but I found 8 hours to be a more accurate which is still a great wear time and almost a full working day.

Genuinely wish I could pull off this kind of shade! My NC15 skin does not seem to like bright colours xo
ReplyDeleteWow, this is SUCH a gorgeous colour! I tend not to wear lip colour at all though as they all make me look overdone and silly! xxx

ReplyDeleteI like this ranges of Mac lipsticks :)
ReplyDeleteLovely colour x
ReplyDeleteI got this lipstick too and loved it. I also picked up a few other pieces, the Pro Longwear Lipcreme Booyah! (which I love), Zoom Lash New Hue (purple mascara) which is nice but I got the Shade & Smoke Shadow/Liner in Beth Mask and I've no idea how to use it at all. The Liner is obviously a liner and that's fine but the Shadow is very difficult to put on, it's sort of scrapes your eyelid etc... Any tips for that type of shadow (in a lineresque size). Thanks.
ReplyDeleteThis is something i must own!
ReplyDeleteThis was delivered to me today, and I love it already! I didn't get candy yum yum, so I'm glad you pointed out it's similar, thank you! :) x
ReplyDeleteLove the color! xxx
