I have been in the market for a really sheer but effective setting powder,
when I mentioned my plight to a friend she turned around and gifted me with
Bare Minerals Mineral Veil setting powder complete with a dinky little brush.
The packaging of all Bare Minerals products live up to the namesake with minimal packaging,
a clear jar with a black lid and sifter, easy to use and pleasing on the eye.
As it is plastic you can travel with it without worry!
The brush is well made with a nice sized head that makes light work of buffing into the face.
The bristles are soft and retain their shape after washing with no shedding or splaying.
I found the brush to work really well with the Mineral Veil powder
and remind me of the old brushes Avon used to do before they changed them to all black!
Bare Minerals Mineral Veil comes in four different shades/purposes I have the Original formula
which is translucent so it is suitable for all skin colours as it buffs away to a transparent finish.
"Make the most of your makeup with Mineral Veil,
a see-through but spectacular finale for any kind of complexion. Minimising lines, absorbing oils,
and softening your complexion, it gives you a flawless finish that's too good to miss.
And best of all, it's utterly weightless.
Just a bare veil of minerals that lock makeup in place and give your skin airbrushed perfection."
The above description sums the powder up perfectly.
It buffs into the skin to set the make-up but has an airbrush quality that is just beautiful,
it doesn't settle into fine lines or enlarged pores and absorbs all the excess oil on my t-zone
with such ease and keeps it at bay for a good 6 hours.
My favourite aspect is that it truly is weightless you can not feel this at all on the skin
which is always an important factor when it comes to anything I wear on my face.
Undoubtedly this does all it claims to and keeps my make-up in place for around 6 hours
before signs of oiliness decide to rear their oily heads!
Overall I think this will be my to go to warm weather setting powder
and I am now intrigued by the Bare Minerals products, I may purchase a foundation next!

Always looking for the perfect powder for warm weather! Will give this a go!
ReplyDeleteIt is so light :) let me know what you think :)
DeleteI have the Bare Minerals Get Started Complexion kit with this included! I love it, and I find that on good skin days I can nbrush this on and head out! :)
ReplyDeleteOh you are so lucky my skin is never good enough to do that :)
DeleteThis looks tempting to try... Not a bad price either :)!
ReplyDeleteI completely agree :) great for summer :)
DeleteI have one from the old packaging and it's such a pain in the butt without the sifter. I'm glad they put that in.
ReplyDeleteOh lord I can imagine...powder everywhere!
DeleteJust the post I've been looking for! I've just had an update at bobbi brown; I'm pretty freckly and do really struggle to find natural coverage that shows the freckles but covers blemishes. I came away with the tinted moisturiser and bronzer - I love it but am finding that my (non-freckly) chin loses coverage quite quickly. I've been wondering if a powder is the way to go! This one looks great, especially coming with a brush, but I'm not sure how to appy, any tips/advice?
ReplyDeleteThanks for the post, love the blog x
Hey lizzie :) you are so lucky I'd love some pretty freckles!
DeleteI think powder may be the best way to go :) I haven't tried out the foundation version to comment but if it is anything like this I'd say you can't go wrong.
My application tips is less is more, you can always add more where as removing is a royal pain.
Also I find buffing rather than sweeping it on gains better coverage :)
Aww thank you! :)
Thanks SG I'll give it a go! Xx
DeleteI love this product! I got a sample in the Sephora Sun Safety Kit and used it up and then bought a full sized one. Mine is actually SPF 15, too! It is perfect at keeping me from shining in the desert heat. You'll love it in the summer!
ReplyDeleteA sun safety kit sounds fab :) the added spf is great! Yes in the summer I think this will be my to go to powder :)
DeleteI've not tried this but I'm in love with their original foundation. It gives me the best coverage and finish and it's a powder. :o x
ReplyDeleteI'm dying to try the foundation now, you have sold it to me :)
Deleteglad you liked it! reviewed them as well here: http://wickermoss.blogspot.com/2012/01/bareminerals-get-started-kit-by-bare.html

you should try out the other mineral veils! they do a hydrating translucent, an illuminating and a tinted varitation! They are all really lovely, plus you can get them in a starter kit along with a different one of those dinky little brushes for £21!
ReplyDeleteI remember being really young and watching the Bare Mineral infomercials and thinking they were impossibly expensive. Now i've purchased much more expensive things but have yet to try BA at all!
