I'm often quick to update my make-up brush collection but will be the first to admit that I do let my hairbrushes become a little weathered, before I as much as consider replacing them. To start the New Year (lolz this has been sat in my drafts since January), I decided to treat myself to a some additional hairbrushes and that the brand up to the challenge was Lee Stafford (especially after the addition of their new brushes to the already extensive core collection). That and I simply couldn't resist the pretty pink packaging, millennial pink and all that.
As my hair isn't really that difficult to manage in terms of styling (it is long and has loose waves), I don't really need anything too fancy to get the job done on a day-to-day basis. My typical routine includes a Wet Brush (absolute game changer) for de-tangling after washing and a large paddle brush to smooth and style on a daily basis. For that reason I decided that the Lee Stafford Paddle Brush (£10.99) would be perfect for my needs. The large, brush-head allows me to quickly and effortlessly eradicate knots on dry hair, minimises frizz and is also handy should I wish to blow-dry my hair straight. Unlike other paddle brushes I own, this is not overly heavy so should I decide to indulge in some additional hair styling, my arm is not aching by the end of it- the struggle is real!
A little more frivolous and something that will only be reserved for when I need it - and most likely paired with a clarifying product - is the Lee Stafford Shampoo Massage Brush. The idea behind this slightly odd looking brush is that it helps to promote blood circulation in the scalp, which in turn may aid healthy hair growth as well as gently exfoliating the scalp. I have noticed that after each use my hair is shinier than normal and that I use a lot less shampoo, a small win in its own right.
As great as all that sounds, having ass-length locks means I'm not quite in need of an additional length boost, rather I like to use it to really scrub my often product laden scalp - it feels as good as you can imagine. The great thing about this brush is that it is entirely constructed of silicone so you don't have to worry about how much pressure you apply; and it is a breeze to keep clean/dry after each use.
All in all, some wonderful hair brushes that not only look the part but stand up to daily wear and tear too.
