Every now and then something wonderful happens within the beauty world and you can justify owning two versions of the same product. Yes I am indeed talking about limited edition fragrance runs and in this instance Philip Kingsley’s Elasticizer. Newly launched Philip Kingsley Elasticizer Therapies in Mayan Vanilla and Orange Blossom; a fresh, new fragrance that beautifully compliments the deep hair conditioner, giving both your hair and a staple product for many a new lease of life.
Philip Kingsley Elasticizer Therapies in Mayan Vanilla and Orange Blossom is of course the same award-winning, pre-shampoo, deep conditioning treatment that so many of us know and love. If you are not familiar with the deeply nourishing mask, the best way I can describe it is as a super thick hair conditioner, that instantly helps to repair and hydrate even the driest of hair types from the first use. The Philip Kingsley’s Elasticizer formulation has been created to not only condition as one would expect but leave hair feeling and looking healthier with less breakage, and with continued use hair will become healthier and stronger. A must have if you inflict a lot of damage on your poor follicles via heat styling and/or colouring.
To use any of the Philip Kingsley’s Elasticizer Deep Conditioning Treatments you simply apply a generous amount to damp hair before washing - I personally recommend using slightly less than you would when conditioning your hair as a little goes a long way. As this will be followed up with a shampoo and conditioner you have two options in terms of application: you can target the mid-lengths and ends of your hair where most of the damage will have occurred, or you can apply root to tip. Personally I only recommend applying to the whole of the head if you have very dry hair or have recently bleached it, I would avoid such method if you have very fine hair. Once you have applied, you simply leave the treatment to work its magic for up to 20 minutes (really the longer the better, you can even sleep in it) before shampooing and conditioning as normal - those with fine hair may want to double shampoo to avoid build up.
I have used Philip Kingsley’s Elasticizer on and off for several years, no I don't reach for it weekly or even monthly but rather I save it for when my hair needs a helping hand. Over the years I have relied on it to help right many a hair wrong from over processed hair to even sun damage from spending too long on the beach and every single time it has delivered. It's quick, it's easy and it really injects a great dose of much needed hydration and TLC to even the most frazzled of locks - not to mention it is a brilliant de-tangler. If you regularly bleach your hair, you owe it to yourself and hair to invest in a tub of Philip Kingsley Elasticizer Deep Conditioning Treatment - it won't hamper the colour but it will improve tenfold both the general condition and appearance of stressed locks.
As for the new scent? Philip Kingsley Elasticizer Therapies in Mayan Vanilla and Orange Blossom is a fresh, slightly creamy yet sweet in an almost dessert type way, beautifully complimented with gentle floral notes. With Summer right around the corner, this is the perfect gentle yet uplifting fragrance that won't have you chased by a rogue wasp or two every time you venture out the front door.
