As someone who is a fairly restless sleeper - I've all but grown accustom to awakening each morning with various Pillow marks and creases - indented into my skin. Initially said marks would quickly disappear but with each passing birthday, they take longer to plump out; the more stubborn marks can require some fairly vigorous massage, not exactly a huge hindrance but not something I always have the time to do. A few months ago I made a vow to find a more permanent solution and stumbled across the Jasmine Silk Pillowcase.
Now there are several silk brands out there offering similar products but Jasmine Silk comes with the seal of approval from no less than Vogue and Elle! Another deciding factor for me was the fact that Jasmine Silk offer various shades and sizes of silk bedding products meaning you can select items that not only suit your needs but also your decor style too. As I have a fairly pink home, I decided it only made sense to pick up the Jasmine Silk Pink Housewife Pillowcase (from £25)- a dreamy, dusky, pastel hue that makes me feel like a 1950's starlet each time I climb into bed.
My particular pillowcase is constructed of 100% charmeuse Mulberry silk, a finely woven material that is exceptionally strong and yet gentle to both the hair and skin. As someone who is used to sleeping on cotton bedding, I thought it would take some time to adapt to the fabric change but I couldn't be more wrong. The Silk constantly remains constantly cool in temperature and is nothing but comfortable -and dare I say luxurious - to sleep upon. There are also zero fancy care requirements; simply wash at 30 degrees in a standard washing machines and you are good to go.
So why swap to a Jasmine Silk Pillowcase? Silk is an exceptionally delicate, gentle material and as such it creates a softer sleep environment, the natural slip of the fabric prevents tugging and pulling of the skin, in return reducing aforementioned facial lines and creases. Silk is also non-absorbent, making it ideal for dryer skin types to prevent moisture loss throughout the night. The lack of absorption can also benefit those with blemish prone complexions as there is zero oil transfer helping to prevent further skin issues.
If that's not enough, the texture of the Jasmine Silk Pillowcase is also wonderful for hair of all types and textures. Silk helps to create a natural glossy sheen on the hair follicle as well as preventing tangles and knots whilst you sleep.
Zero effort, one purchase and it works whilst you sleep, what are waiting for, swap to a Jasmine Silk Pillowcase - link.
