Jo Malone Honeysuckle & Davana Collection

The ending of September is always a tricky period isn't it? First of all there is the weather to contemplate - aka do we or don't we need a jacket season, and then there's the fact, that in my mind, it isn't *quite* Autumn. Sure the calendar states that we are now into the time of crunchy leaves, hot drinks and suitably scented candles and yet the humidity outside and distinctive lack of said leaves suggests otherwise. What's a gal to do? Well leave her super thick scarf at home for one, and then maybe embrace what the media so affectionately dubs "transitional pieces".

I'm no fashion guru so I'll leave all your Autumnal and beyond fashion queries to those who don't deem a matching Adidas t-shirt and leggings to be stylish and talk about what I do know - fragrance. Yes the time has come to pack away those punchy, fruity scents but what next? The newest Jo Malone Cologne (and maybe candle if you are feeling particularly indulgent), that's what.

Bridging the gap between Summer and Autumn scents, clean yet sexy, office and downtime appropriate is Jo Malone Honeysuckle & Davana Cologne; a luscious blend of white, creamy florals complimented by a deep and unexpected moss base. As you may be aware Honeysuckle is a bright and happy flower that grows in the wild and is probably something that has scented many a stroll through the countryside, as such it will stir nostalgic memories without you realising it - and that's exactly how I'd describe it, sentimental and a tad playful. One quick mist of Jo Malone Honeysuckle & Davana Cologne and all of a sudden I'm dreaming of crisp walks in the late September sun, in fields that don't exist, coupled with a Gilmore Girl like existence and a perma-grin. The unexpected twist comes via Davana which is a green plant that has a ever so slightly liquorice like scent.

Truthfully not every personal scent (aka perfume, cologne and the rest) translate all that well into home fragrances and vice versa; for instance I love Jo Malone Pomegranate Noir in candle form but not so much as a cologne and I wouldn't dream of purchasing Jo Malone Amber & Lavender as a candle as it so much more at home nestled onto the skin. However, Jo Malone Honeysuckle & Davana works beautifully in both forms - the warm yet crisp floral scent evokes a magical yet warming waft of fragrance throughout the home with ease and although noticeable it isn't intoxicating, it's refined, sophisticated and yet welcoming. If ever there was a candle to enjoy the last few nights of the mild days of September it is this.

If you aren't quite ready to admit defeat and embrace the soon to be drudgery that is Autumn, add a daily splash of liquid late-Summer sunshine with the Jo Malone Honeysuckle & Davana collection.
