Yardley The Collection Eau de Toilette Review

I grew up with bathrooms littered with beautifully scented Yardley soaps and can vividly recall making excuses as a child to visit the bathroom purely to wash my hands, even back then I knew it was a little touch of luxury and something to treasure. As such I have forever associated the often floral notes of various Yardley fragrances with my grandmother and truly didn't expect to one day in my twenties, to stumble across a Yardley scent that I would call my own but with the new Yardley The Collection range (five new scents inspired by gemstones), I am truly confident that you too will fall for the new and modern Yardley fragrances that beautifully embody everything that is British in a medley of tradition and newness.

Gemstones are big news right now, particularly when it comes to harnessing the powers and qualities of certain stones to improve and enrich our day to day lives. Well with the new Yardley The Collection fragrance launch you can tap into such feeling in a more sensory and convenient manner, not to mention smell great whilst doing so. As each of the new Yardley The Collection Eau de Toilette's are inspired by gemstones, they have been created to embody the qualities of such gemstones: be it uplifting and inspiring the wearer or adding a little calmness to the city slicker. Further cementing the new direction of Yardley is the new face of The Collection - Tigerlily Taylor who is not only youthful but beyond cool, I urge you to watch the full video campaign here.

Yardley The Collection Eau de Toilette Review

Now my personal favourite fragrance of the bunch has to be the green and decidedly floral notes of Yardley Daisy Sapphire - it is youthful, bold and very easy to wear but let me share a little more information and inspiration on each of the five Eau de Toilettes to help you narrow down your next fragrance purchase.

Yardley Daisy Sapphire Eau de Toilette
As mentioned this cheerful and invigorating fragrance is my current favourite (I may switch to something to a little deeper once we reach Autumn), it is youthful, unforgettable and the perfect fusion of fruity notes mingled with delicate floral accents. If ever there was never a fragrance created for the weekend, this is it with notes of fresh green leaves, apple, hyacinth and white rose this wonderful encapsulates the uniqueness of the Yellow Sapphire that has inspired this scent.

Yardley Flora Jade Eau de Toilette
Cool, calm and collected is how I would describe Yardley Flora Jade, an aromatic and slightly oriental fusion of notes that demand attention and yet never overpower - this is for the free thinkers of the world. As you can imagine, the muse behind this blend is of course natural Jade gemstones and as such features some earthen notes coupled with some light fruity accents: peach, bergamot and galbanum blend with an airy floral bouquet heart of rose, jasmine, ylang-ylang, orris, patchouli, sandalwood and moss.

Yardley Poppy Diamond Eau de Toilette
Poppy is very much the cool note on the block at the moment, expect to see more Poppy fragrance launches as the year rolls by but for those looking to stay ahead of the curve, may I suggest you try Yardley Poppy Diamond Eau de Toilette first. It will come of little surprise that this particular scent is inspired by the timeless beauty and appeal of diamonds - think of this as a modern day classic in the making. With notes of pear and bergamot, honey, rose, peony and lily of the valley, cedar wood, sandalwood and vanilla, this is a wear everywhere and anytime kind of fragrance and trust me it is not often that I stumble across those.

Yardley Lilac Amethyst Eau de Toilette
Fragrance is seldom calming and centring but that is exactly how I would describe Yardley Lilac Amethyst Eau de Toilette. Yes it is an intense and very clearly floral fragrance but much like the gemstone Amethyst which inspires this scent, it gently soothes weary and frayed nerves and uplifts in a less than obvious way - there is not a hint of lavender in sight! Much like all the fragrances within this collective the notes are unexpected and dare I say it once again - modern: pear, lemon and bergamot basil, fig, peach, black pepper, heliotrope and spicy amber.

Yardley Yardley Rosie Ruby Eau de Toilette
Romantic, flirty and generally just a joy to wear and experience, Yardley Rosie Ruby is my choice for date night, or any night on the tiles for that matter. Inspired by the vibrancy that is the natural ruby, Yardley Rosie Ruby is fun, bold and fearless not to mention a sensual blend of fruity and floral notes that will uplift and empower the wearer: mandarin, pear, peach, cassis, peony, rose, orange flower and pink pepper.
