Some days I wonder how I possibly can call myself a Beauty Blogger, I mean as of 2018 I will have been blogging about make-up and other frivolous fancies, almost daily, for seven years and yet I've never fully road tested IT Cosmetics products. Yes I have dabbled here and there with samples found in beauty boxes but other than that, my experience with such brand is skimpy at best. With IT Cosmetics finally reaching the UK shores via QVC, Selfridges and their own dedicated website, I thought now would be as good as any time to fully indulge - that and as it is November all the penny saving gift sets are on the shelves, so really it would be rude not to treat myself.
The IT Cosmetics Your Top 5 Superstars Holiday Make-up Collection contains five, top rated, IT Cosmetic items, which are what most would deem to be everyday essentials. Basically with this kit you have a full face of product minus any colour items aka lipstick, eyeshadow and blush. It's a great way to introduce yourself to the brand and of course bumph up your make-up bag in one quick step.
IT Cosmetics Celebration Foundation
If you in any capacity use powder foundation, you need this. The soft, comfortable and utterly flattering matte foundation (it doesn't settle into any lines nor pores), quickly creates a perfect canvas that is not overly matte but skin perfecting (it has a slight blurring quality) all the same. Unlike other full coverage powders this never looks flat, cakey (it is talc free and features collagen) or overly done - as an added bonus it can be used as a setting powder.
What brush and method you use to apply IT Cosmetics Celebration Foundation pretty much makes or breaks it: a dense brush equates to a full and almost airbrush like finish; a softer brush will yield a more natural result, or of course you can apply it with a sponge for a more precise and targeted coverage. As with most powder foundations, yes you can apply It Cosmetics Celebration Foundation damp but it is not something I fully endorse as it seems to tinker a little with both coverage and comfort factors.
IT Cosmetics Angled Buffing Foundation Brush
A super soft, synthetic, angled brush to effortlessly apply IT Cosmetics Celebration Foundation or any other base product you wish. The large but angled design makes light work of both application and blending - so far I personally prefer the IT Cosmetics Angled Buffing Foundation Brush with cream or liquid products, with powders it can create a heavier than desired finish.
IT Cosmetics Superhero Elastic Stretch Volumizing Mascara
This is my dream mascara formulation: it is a little drier than normal, great for holding a curl, elongating, not quick to smudge or smear and a breeze to remove when ready. The long, large brush head grabs every, single eyelash and stretches them to maximum potential - I do however recommend applying any second coat whilst the mascara is still wet to avoid any clumping. If I had to describe the effect IT Cosmetics Superhero Elastic Stretch Volumizing Mascara creates, I would liken it to an eye opening, false eyelash effect but natural at the same time.
IT Cosmetics Brow Power Universal Pencil
As someone with fair brows, I am a tad wary of any product that all but claims to suit all hair tones as typically they tend to be too dark, I was however pleasantly surprised by the IT Cosmetics Brow Power Universal Pencil. I'm not utterly convinced that it is quite as "universal" as it claims, it may be too cool in tone for certain skin tones and preferences but for anyone who uses ashy grey-brow shades in their brows, this is an excellent option.
What I like most about this particular pencil is how easy it is to use: the angled nib makes creating realistic brow strokes a breeze, as it is slim but not overly so, it is both precise and quick to use and as it comes complete with a spoolie for blending you really have all you need at your disposal to shape and fill your brows in seconds.
I should also mention that this is easily one of the longest wearing brow products I own: the creamy but waxy formulation stays in place, perfectly for hours and is more than capable of surviving a rain shower or two. Yes IT Cosmetics should really expand the shade range to offer more targeted options but the formulation of the IT Cosmetics Brow Power Universal Pencil is as near to perfect as I have found.
IT Cosmetics Bye Bye Under Eye Full Coverage Concealer
If like myself you are heavy handed in make-up application department, IT Cosmetics Bye Bye Under Eye Full Coverage Concealer may take some getting used to, as really less is more with this powerful concealer.
At first I hated the heavy, thick and difficult to diffuse texture of IT Cosmetics Bye Bye Under Eye Full Coverage Concealer but that was due to application error - I had been laying it on a little too slap happy, when really all you need is a pin head sized amount per eye, anything else will result in near catastrophe.
Yes IT Cosmetics Bye Bye Under Eye Full Coverage Concealer is a heavy duty concealer and yes IT Cosmetics Bye Bye Under Eye Full Coverage Concealer will easily cover the darkest of circles in mere seconds but you've really got to nail application first. I've found the easiest way to apply is to dab a mere morsel of product on the back of my hand, gently apply to the under eye with my ring finger and then blend out with a soft, fluffy and synthetic brush - the latter step isn't really necessary but I do find it locks it in place a little better. To prevent creasing I of course recommend setting with a dusting of powder but despite being a heavier concealer, I can't really found it to be prone to such signs of wear nor uncomfortable.
What to take away from this post? IT Cosmetics is definitely a brand that should be on your radar and along with the now iconic IT Cosmetics Your Skin But Better CC+ Cream, most of the above should go straight to the top of your to try list.
