Jo Malone Star Magnolia Cologne Collection Review

Much to my - and most likely most of the U.K's surprise  and glee - Spring has sprung; the days are both lighter and warmer, and as such it is finally time to pack away my Winter clothing and fragrances. I like to kick start each season with a new scent and truly there is nothing more special nor delightful, out there, than Jo Malone Star Magnolia Cologne; a gloriously crisp and feminine fragrance that I have all but lived in recently.

Yes the first thing everyone and their dog will want to talk about - and rightly so - is the showstopping white packaging and floral adornment. I don't think there is a bottle more beautiful within my (Jo Malone and otherwise) collection, the white and petal accents effortlessly hint at what is inside as well as, of course looking great on display. The pretty, flower-like collar is constructed of heavy-duty paper and can easily be removed and replaced with each use - something I personally recommend doing to prolong the life of said decoration as said fabric and liquids don't always bode all that well. I should also add that all three products within this collective (the 30ml, 100ml and the hair mist), feature the same style of packaging, so those who prefer dinkier bottles of scent don't miss out on the same level of detailing - something I can't say for all brands.

If you like clean, crisp, floral notes, man are you in for a treat with Jo Malone Star Magnolia Cologne. Much like the gleaming white and somewhat intricate detailing of the bottle, Jo Malone Star Magnolia Cologne does of course contain complex and fresh variety of notes which include: Star Magnolia, magnolia leaf, orange blossom, lemon, ginger and shiso - an uplifting yet not overly citrus burst of scent, that in my opinion begs to be worn with a pretty sundress or two.

On first mist, this is bright and zesty with the lemon and ginger notes really shining through with lead way to the clean, crisp note of magnolia and orange blossom. Yes Jo Malone Star Magnolia Cologne is a white floral cut with fruity notes but it is so much more than that: it is refreshing yet never tart, elegant, creamy and oh-so easy to wear. I promise you won't have experienced anything like it and that you will most likely be hooked from the very first spray, and if that's not enough to leave you hooked the Jo Malone Star Magnolia scent it also available as a hair mist. One word. Heavenly - and maybe in some cases, a great excuse to ditch dry shampoo, especially if all you use it for is to disguise the clingy scent of the city on your tresses.

The bad news? Like all things wonderful, the Jo Malone Star Magnolia collection is sadly limited edition so get it while you can, I do think this will be a case of blink and you miss it - not that you need an additional excuse to visit your local Jo Malone counter anyway.
