The £2 Jo Malone Shower Gel Dupe

Okay the real reason anyone visits the Supermarket is to stock up on life essentials such as y'know, food and the bare essentials; as a grown up you shouldn't really be bribing yourself to complete such task but hey whatever gets you through the night....or shopping aisles. I live in a weird area, sure there are main roads aplenty but places to shop are few and far between, as a matter of a fact the only shop within walking distance of my home is Lidl. Now please don't feel like I am bad mouthing budget supermarkets as who doesn't enjoy saving a few pennies, and personally I believe they are one of the best options for fresh fruit and vegetables (look at me adulating) but toiletries not so much. Well that's unless you are in the market for a new shower gel or three.

On a whim (okay while purchasing cookies, seriously Lidl's in-house bakery gives me life) I added one of each of the new - and what I am assuming is limited edition - Cien Shower Creams to my basket. At just over £1 each I figured really how far wrong could I go? I mean it is just a body wash, as long as it cleanses and smells great I'm happy and I can happily vouch the shower creams do just that. As a matter of a fact, the Cien Shower Creams deliver a little more than expected - you see rather than being your bog-standard shower gel, my recent budget find is in-fact a shower foam, meaning it can be used in place of a shaving foam. Can I get a hell yeah for multi-purpose products that don't break the bank.

If you are on the verge of picking up your coat and heading to your nearest creator of the best choc chip cookies ever, let me further tempt you - one of said shower foams is almost identical in terms of fragrance to a certain well loved Jo Malone scent. If you happen to be a fan - and who isn't - of Jo Malone's Pomegrante Noir then hot foot it to Lidl and purchase Cien Shower Cream in Fresh Cascade. Yes it is aimed at men but trust me when I say it is more than reminiscent of one of Jo Malone's iconic and slightly spicy Pomegranate based scent.

The other two fragrances to collect - or bypass, depending on your preference - are: Sweet Summer an almost (and I do say almost) sickly sweet, berry scent that leans more strawberry and has a decidedly "candy" like factor - nostalgic if nothing else. For a more muted tropical experience try, Cien Shower Cream in Sparkling Sunset, yes it is fruity but not typically sweet and reminds a lot of pineapple.

Basically go to Lidl, purchase the blue can of Cien Shower Cream and stock up on the freshly baked cookies, then thank me later.

Moomooi x Feelunique Collection

To quote Sheldon Cooper from The Big Bang Theory "What is life without a little whimsy?". Well as far as beauty and life accessories go, they don't come much more whimsical than the Moomooi collection for Feelunique. Six beautifully designed pieces that merge function and practicality with charming, difficult to resist floral patterns that could be more fitting for the current season - I mean Spring is the season to adorn yourself in pastel hues with a smattering of floral patterns isn't it?

Moomooi x Feelunique Collection

The idea behind the collection is that each item has been designed with the everyday girl and routine in mind, all the while being entirely affordable - "This “Beauty in Bloom” inspired collection is a perfect harmony between #SomeFlowerGirls illustrations and the world of beauty. With these Feelunique accessories, I picture chic women the world over bringing a little whimsy into their daily routine!" - Meredith Wing.

Moomooi x Feelunique Collection

Have you noticed that over the last few years make-up bags have become smaller and yet our stashes have become considerably larger? Finding a make-up bag big enough for your daily needs and yet not so large that it has tinkered into travel bag territory has become neigh impossible. If this sounds like an all too familiar scenario then you may want to pay close attention to the Moomooi x Feelunique Make-Up Bag. Yes it is large and exceedingly beautiful but it will more than hold your everyday essentials without over crowding your handbag and should you need it to, it should be large enough to survive a weekend away too - it may just be the best £12 you ever spend on a make-up bag.

Moomooi x Feelunique Collection
Moomooi x Feelunique Collection

My other must-have from the collection is the MooMooi x Feelunique Flat Top Kabuki Brush - the perfect, all-round, suit-all occasions and needs brush, not to mention it is utterly charming in appearance too. You see there are very few face make-up brushes that cater to your every whim but the MooMooi x Feelunique Flat Top Kabuki Brush does just that. You can use it to gently buff in an base product - cream, liquid or powder, it works equally as well with all textures, or you can use it to apply powder products such as bronzer, blush and setting powder. This brush will be there when you need it to, complete with soft, easy to wash bristles - what more can you ask for?

Moomooi x Feelunique Collection
Moomooi x Feelunique Collection

As someone who doesn't use public transport all that often (I can walk to pretty much anywhere I need to be), the MooMooi x Feelunique Travel Wallet isn't something I would personally rush out to purchase. However if you do have an Oyster Card or any other travel card, I can't think of a prettier way to store it safely in your handbag. As an added bonus the MooMooi x Feelunique Travel Wallet also features a large mirror - great for applying lipstick on the go.

Lastly we have the MooMooi x Feelunique iPhone cases, again not necessarily a necessity but a great way to beautify and of course protect your phone, or in my instance a reminder to finally upgrade your phone so that you have a case that fits it. Either or.

You can find the entire MooMooi x Feelunique here - link.

Lidl's Suddenly Madame Glamour Eau de Parfum

Let's say you have a favourite fragrance, your signature scent if you will - one you have worn and treasured for years and spent more money than you care to think of on, would you be tempted to replace it by a Supermarket equivalent? A scent that in blind tests has swayed even the most discerning nose to be the real thing, or are you loyal to the brand that won you over all those years ago?

Lidl's Suddenly Madame Glamour Eau de Parfum

I'm afraid I am the latter, I like the experience of heading to the beauty halls, spending hours pouring over the latest Tom Ford or Jo Malone release and handing over more money than I really should be on a new fragrance. Yes in theory it is ridiculous; a £5 scent in essence is no different to a £50 offering and it should really all boil down to what you like - rather than the fragrance house behind the launch. However when I purchase a luxury item - perfume or otherwise - I am more considered in my choices, I will not purchase on a whim, I will test it out in store and then return if it really has won me over. I also find with a high end splurge, I treasure the item far more than I would with say a fruity body spray, I saviour every spray and enjoy every moment. Now that's not to say that I don't think a similar purchase experience couldn't be had with a more cost efficient product - because it can - it is just that I find the allure of luxury fragrance more appealing.

Lidl's Suddenly Madame Glamour Eau de Parfum

Within the U.K and I.R.E we have two budget Supermarkets that have been hitting the headlines for their fragrance "dupes" - one being Lidl's Suddenly Madame Glamour Eau de Parfum, a £3.99 alternative to the iconic Chanel's Coco Mademoiselle Eau de Parfum, and a convincing one at that. The bottles may not be similar - Lidl have settled on a similar colour scheme none the less - but the contents smell almost identical, with the real main difference being the price. I will admit that after a few hours Lidl's Suddenly Madame Glamour Eau de Parfum can turn a little stale on the skin, almost expelling an alcoholic stench but for the price, I imagine the alcohol content within this fragrance will be high and such dry down note should be expected. Otherwise they are two peas in a beautifully scented pod, if you own and love Chanel Coco Mademoiselle Eau de Parfum, this may well be worth checking out. I've also that Suddenly Madame Glamour is available in candle form, that I did not spot in-store but if I do, I would not hesitate to purchase a few Chanel-esque candles - I mean burning £1's over £20 notes has got to be some sort of improvement right?

I won't be rushing out to purchase another bottle of Lidl's Suddenly Madame Glamour Eau de Parfum. Yes, I do truly think it is a lovely find and that it is great that there are more affordable fragrance options out there but for me I'll save the Supermarket for groceries; if that makes me a snob, so be it.

So are you a fragrance snob?

Maybelline SuperStay 24 Hour Setting Spray

Earlier this year, L'Oréal finally unleashed their best selling and ever hyped setting spray - L'Oréal Infalliable Pro Set and Spray Make Up Extender Setting Spray within the UK/I.R.E; a mouthful to say but a great budget option none the less. What may have slipped under the radar due to the L'Oréal fuss, is the slightly cheaper but just as great, Maybelline SuperStay 24 Hour Setting Spray - I guess the first "dupe" is always going to be the one that generates the most attention? A shame really when this a wonderful option that will save you a few pennies to boot too.

The Maybelline SuperStay 24 Hour Setting Spray may not have the slick appearance of the L'Oréal nor Urban Decay setting sprays for that matter, but I urge you to look beyond the white and red bottle. One of the most important aspects of a setting spray - formulation aside - is how the product is dispensed; ideally you are looking for a super fine mist that evenly coats the skin without drenching the complexion, all of which the Maybelline SuperStay 24 Hour Setting Spray delivers and with ease. Simply hold the bottle of the Maybelline SuperStay 24 Hour Setting Spray at arms length, close your eyes and mist on the skin - it really couldn't be more straight forward.

Maybelline SuperStay 24 Hour Setting Spray

As you may have noticed, most setting sprays do tend to be infused with various vitamins and skin saving ingredients so that they not only set make-up but also act as a skin treatment too? This is not the case with the Maybelline SuperStay 24 Hour Setting Spray, to be cost efficient Maybelline have stripped back the ingredients to the bare basics. As such no, the Maybelline SuperStay 24 Hour Setting Spray won't deeply hydrate, nor protect your skin against the elements but it will lock your make-up firmly in place. Which is really all most of us will require from a setting spray - if you want skincare like benefits surely you turn to skincare products?

Yes, the Maybelline SuperStay 24 Hour Setting Spray is fairly basic but it does all it claims to and a little more, all the while being oil free and comfortable to wear. As you'd expect, Maybelline's first setting spray does just that - it sets your make-up in place without changing the finish or colour of any product it is sprayed over. Admittedly this is not a claim that you will find on the side of the bottle or general marketing bumph, but I have found that this gentle mist, does a great job of keeping oil at bay, and without further dehydrating my skin to boot. If you really struggle with oily skin (and/or perhaps live in a balmy environment), you can substitute the Maybelline SuperStay 24 Hour Setting Spray in place of your normal primer for a little more grit before make-up application. Not only is Maybelline SuperStay 24 Hour Setting Spray completely translucent but it is weightless, breathable and generally a joy to wear. I can't think of a better budget option.

The Body Shop Instaglow CC Cream Review and Swatches

Instagram has a lot to answer for, mainly our ever dwindling bank accounts and certain make-up obsessions; one such being the perfect glow. Yes glow - shimmer and glitter based products need not apply because now we crave a finish far more sophisticated and dare I say camera ready finish - a real life filter if you will. The newest promise of social media ready skin comes via The Body Shop in the form of The Body Shop Instaglow CC Cream line; a range of three, light infusing skin bases that promise radiant skin as well as an even skin tone in one quick step. Perfect not only for close ups but also the warmer weather in general.

The Body Shop Instaglow CC Cream Review and Swatches
The Body Shop Instaglow CC Cream Review and Swatches

Not only has the finish of The Body Shop Instaglow CC Creams been created with Instagram in mind but the packaging is very "Insta" friendly too. The super glossy, metallic-come-pastel hued tubes certainly photograph well and look great in any photo grid, as well as being utterly practical. The Body Shop Instaglow CC Cream range features soft, squeezable tubes complete with a needle point nozzle for ease of use - a gentle push will release a small amount of product, all without leaks, spills and waste.

The Body Shop Instaglow CC Cream Review and Swatches

Rather than offering a one shade suit suits all approach - which seldom, if ever works all that well - The Body Shop Instaglow CC Cream collection offers three shades: one each for light, medium and deep complexions. Much like any CC Cream, the The Body Shop Instaglow CC Creams do somewhat adjust and adapt to compliment your natural skin tone; it is recommended that if you are between shades, that you select the lighter of the two options - it will be more flattering and of course, easier to work with in terms of blending into the skin.

The Body Shop Instaglow CC Cream Review and Swatches

Above is all three shades and then Peach Glow, swatched and blended out - as you can see it is more creamy than radiant.

So far, so good huh? Well that is until you factor in the glow element - the one aspect that seemingly sets this product aside from every other CC cream - and realise that it is lacking. There is next to no sheen, let alone high definition glow to make this product a contender for the Instagram crown. As a base product, The Body Shop Instaglow CC Cream range will somewhat brighten and even the skin tone out, all without emphasising enlarged pores and fine lines, complete with a comfortable, lightweight and breathable texture (and an SPF20). The glow factor may be lacking but don't write this CC cream off just yet: it is not only easy to apply, buildable and long-wearing but add a light dusting of setting powder, and you have an ideal everyday base for the Summer.

Sadly The Body Shop Instaglow CC Creams won't have you disregarding your favourite highlighter just yet, but they do offer a quick and easy, brightening base, that could be the perfect fuss-free addition to your Summer make-up bag.

Summer 2016 Woodwick Candles Review

Slowly but surely candles have become ridiculously expensive, I mean I enjoy luxurious home décor but when it feels like you are burning ten pound notes suddenly the scent of fig doesn't seem all that appealing. As much as I enjoy, own and purchase Yankee Candles it is nice to step away from the norm every now and then, and embrace lesser known but equally as affordable and wonderful brands. If you have yet to try Woodwick Candles, my gosh are you in for a treat; you'll wonder how you ever survived without the comforting crackling wood sound in the background, and of course the rich welcoming aromas too. Summer may not be the season of the humble candle but my two recent fruity Woodwick acquisitions might just change your mind.

Summer 2016 Woodwick Candles Review
Summer 2016 Woodwick Candles Review

As you can most likely see, each Woodwick Candle features a wooden wick hence the name. Now this isn't some delightful novelty feature rather this enhances the whole home fragrance experience, and adds a certain warm and ambience that other candles lack. You see once lit, each Woodwick Candle crackles and flickers away in the background much like a roaring fire, or in the case of Summer a beach bonfire or even a BBQ grill. I find that the scent somewhat dictates where your imagination will take you in terms of sound; light, fruity notes - the beach at night, deep, intense fragrances - a traditional log fire.

Summer 2016 Woodwick Candles Review

So if you want to turn your home into a tropical paradise there are two fruity Woodwick scents you need to try - heck if you are feeling particularly fancy you can burn both at the same time for your own at-home oasis. If you enjoy bright lemon scents that are sharp, zingy and not overly sweet then you need to try Woodwick Candle in Lemon, it is so uplifting and perfect for chasing away any weekday rain clouds. Now on paper, I didn't think that Pineapple would translate well into a home fragrance scent but it is nothing other than spectacular. It is a sunny, sweet fragrance that reminds me of fruit salads and ice pops - it truly couldn't be perfect for the warmer weather be it for day or evening use.

You can find both of the aforementioned Woodwick candles via Love Aroma store for £17.99 each - link.

A good mascara is like a bus, you wait for one to come along and then all of a sudden a whole gaggle shows up. If you have been searching high and low for a great, affordable mascara that adds an abundance of volume to your lashes, look no further because I have found no less than five wonderful options that will suit every need and budget.

Gosh Rebel Eyes Mascara £6.99 via Superdrug - link.
As a huge fan of Benefit's Rollerlash Mascara but not so much the less than oily skin friendly formulation (spoiler - it smudges), I have been forever on the lookout for an alternative and found it in the aisles of Superdrug. Gosh Rebel Eyes Mascara is a great, long wearing, light formulation that gently coats each eyelash, thickening as it goes. If that is not enough, the spoon shape and moulded brush features tiny hooks, to gently grip each lash, stretching and curling as it goes for an eye opening effect. It doesn't smudge, it doesn't flake and it contains Sea Buckthorn to continuously condition and protect the eyelashes - Benefit who?

Revlon Ultra Volume Mascara £9.99 via Boots - link.
If a no frills, truly volumising mascara is all you desire then stop what you are doing and order a tube (or two) of Revlon Ultra Volume Mascara. This mascara is the perfect choice if you already have naturally long eyelashes - it is lighter than light, yet gives the illusion of thicker, fuller lashes in two quick coats, three for a false lash effect. The large, natural brush may not be the best for applying to the lower eyelashes but it is perfect for teasing and pulling, longer lashes to their full potential without being harsh. If like myself you have small eyes and/or straight eyelashes, I do recommend you skip this as the large brush can be a little messy and not really suited to your needs.

MUA Eye Define Volume, Nourish & Care Mascara £3 via Superdrug - link.Oil enriched mascaras are everywhere at the moment and every much a welcomed addition to any beauty bag, as not only do you gain thick, black lashes but also a daily conditioning treatment too. MUA Eye Define Volume, Nourish & Care Mascara features avocado oil to gently nourish and protect the lashes; meaning with daily use, you may find your eyelashes are stronger and less prone to fall out. As a mascara MUA Eye Define Volume, Nourish & Care Mascara does all it says it will on the tin (or tube), it evenly coats every lash root to tip, adds a little volume and is comfortable to wear. As someone with oily skin, I did find that around the six hour mark I had to wipe away the odd smudge on my brow bone, but other than that I can not complain.

Essence Forbidden Volume Mascara £3 via Wilko - link.
Cheap, cheerful and super soft; if you are tired of heavy, weighty mascaras that pull down your lashes, with dry, prone to flaking formulations, you need to try Essence Forbidden Volume Mascara. The tapered style of the Essence Forbidden Volume Mascara means you can easily capture even the smallest of lashes, for a natural, full lash effect with next to no effort. I will say that out of all of the mascaras featured within this post, this offers the most subtle approach making it a great, everyday choice or the ideal option for blending real eyelashes in with a strip of false lashes. Although Essence Forbidden Volume Mascara may not be waterproof, it does not smudge, smear nor flake, and can withstand a little rain shower too.

This iconic pink and green tube (I have the limited edition NYC version hence the black lid but rest assure it is normally green) will forever be a staple of mine and many, many others as it always delivers. The natural fibre, long and thin brush, quickly grips all sizes of lashes, adds both length and volume, coupled with a lightweight, survive all weather conditions formula. To try it, is to love it - trust me on this one.

Is there any other budget beauty mascara that I should add to this list, or try out for that matter - hook a gal up!

The Body Shop Polynesian Island Tiare Eau de Toilette Review

Budget friendly fragrance is so, so hit and miss, and normally the latter if we are being entirely honest. The problem seems to be that the more affordable fragrances are either sickly sweet and aimed at pre-teens or reek heavily of alcohol; there seems to be no real middle ground. Typically I do gravitate towards more expensive eau de toilettes and eau de parfum's because I know what to expect and do feel that when I spend more, I get more. However for every rule there is an exception and for the world of discounted fragrance that happens to be The Body Shop, notably the new The Body Shop Polynesian Island Tiare Eau de Toilette.

The Body Shop Polynesian Island Tiare Eau de Toilette Review

Now this is not a criticism as I personally more than enjoy coconut and general beach-y inspired scents, be it tropical and fruity, or milky like a sunscreen, but they are the norm and almost expected come the first sign of sunshine. What is often ignored is bright, exotic and warm floral scents - fragrances that are reminiscent of a walk around a warm location at night, with a soft breeze trailing the aroma of any night time blossoms and a general carefree attitude. Admittedly this is not the easiest thing to bottle but The Body Shop Polynesian Island Tiare Eau de Toilette has seemingly managed the impossible.

The Body Shop Polynesian Island Tiare Eau de Toilette Review

The Body Shop Polynesian Island Tiare Eau de Toilette is perhaps best described as a bold, and all together green-come-sharp floral scent - this is not your usual, gentle summer fragrance launch, this has a lot of body and will stick around for hours after application. Weirdly The Body Shop Polynesian Island Tiare Eau de Toilette does contain fruity and soft notes such as bergamot, orange, coconut and vanilla but they are not at all prominent, even on the dry down. Rather the real stars of this fragrance show is the floral notes of tiare flower, frangipani and ylang ylang.

It's green, it's floral, it's fresh, it has plenty of staying power and it is a different spin on the typical Summer ready fragrance - you need to try The Body Shop Polynesian Island Tiare Eau de Toilette, especially if all you do is dream of going on a tropical getaway...I mean don't we all?

The Body Shop Vitamin E Day Lotion SPF 30 Review

Isn't the season of Summer just wonderful - warm weather, if you are lucky a trip or two away and perhaps less layers of clothing (a girl can dream huh?).What is not ideal in balmy conditions is an oily or dehydrated complexion, and the struggle of finding a suitable moisturiser to quench without overwhelming. Well ladies and gentlemen, I present The Body Shop Vitamin E Day Lotion SPF 30 - your Summer secret weapon, regardless of your skin type and needs.

The Body Shop Vitamin E Day Lotion SPF 30 Review

I don't really have much to voice in regards to The Body Shop Vitamin E Day Lotion SPF 30 packaging, it is fairly simple, travel friendly and due to the opaque tube and in-built pump function it is sterile and super easy to use. I mean can you really ask for more? Not for £14 you can't...well you can but I doubt it will be found easily.

The Body Shop Vitamin E Day Lotion SPF 30 Review
The Body Shop Vitamin E Day Lotion SPF 30 Review

The first thing that made me stand up and take notice of The Body Shop Vitamin E Day Lotion SPF 30 was the texture - the light weight, milky emulsion substance is not only great for oily complexions but anyone who enjoys a lighter-than-air consistency too. The other bonus of this being so light in texture is that it absorbs super quickly, and settles to an almost powder like finish (that is comfortable to wear), making it the perfect base for make-up application or general oil control - before make-up or not.

Now don't let the fact that this is a light fluid based moisturiser fool you, it is deeply nourishing and loaded full of important and skin boosting ingredients such as: antioxidant properties to protect against free radicals and general environment damage, Biofermented Hyaluronic Acid for continued moisture. This is of course along with Vitamin E to plump, refine and offer a little anti-ageing benefits. If that is not enough, The Body Shop Vitamin E Day Lotion SPF 30 also features broad spectrum UV protection to ensure the skin is protected on all fronts.

The next time you visit The Body Shop make sure you add this to your basket and thank me later.

Barry M Lip Oils Review

Lip oils will be this years must have lip product, particularly for the warmer days of Summer. Why? Well there is of course the novelty factor of an oil based lip product and then there is the practicality of glossy, well nourished lips all without the stickiness of a traditional lip gloss. Up until very recently lip oils where the invention of expensive, high end brands putting them out of reach for some, well that was until the launch of the new Barry M Lip Oils; two silky soft, lip treatments that won't break the bank and preform just as well as any of the pricier versions.

Barry M Lip Oils Review
Barry M Lip Oils Review

I have noticed that myself and others can be a little harsh when critiquing Barry M packaging without bearing in mind that it is not only a budget beauty brand, but one aimed at teenagers and pre-teens. So yes, undoubtedly the outer packaging is going to be bright, bold and if you want to snag a bargain I'm afraid you'll have to accept this as a fact. On the plus side the Barry M Lip Oils seem to be a tad more grown up: presented in a clear lip gloss style tube, complete with a doe foot applicator that is long and slim, for even and effortless application. It may not be the prettiest lip oil on the market but the Barry M Lip Oils are great for slipping into a handbag, pocket and/or beach bag and at just £4.99 should both shades appeal to you, you most likely can afford to treat yourself.

The Barry M Lip Oils come in two shades...well I say shades, when tints and perhaps scents is more fitting. You see, a lot like a lip gloss, the Barry M Lip Oils are not overly saturated with pigment; rather they at most offer a hint of a tint, and even then it depends on which variety you purchase and the colour of your natural lips to begin with. The lighter your lip tone the more prominent the shade will be and vice versa. The only tinted Barry M Lip Oil is the red tinged Berry Good, and even then it is a fairly subtle wash of colour (which you can see on my arm above) - pretty enough but perhaps not an instant replacement for your favourite red lipstick. The good news is that as the lip oils are so sheer they can pretty much be layered over any other lip product, regardless of the shade, and who doesn't enjoy a truly versatile product?

Barry M Lip Oils Review

So what exactly is a lip oil? Is it just another passing beauty fad or is it something worthwhile investing in? Now obviously it depends on what you enjoy wearing on your lips but for anyone looking for a sheer splash of colour, that is glossy yet not at all sticky, all the while comfortable and hydrating - the answer is of course yes, they are worth every penny. Personally I loathe lip gloss, I hate the sensation and the thick, greasy and often tacky texture that goes hand-in-hand with such formulation, yet I do enjoy a lip plumping glossy finish once in a while, so a lip oil is the perfect alternative. Not only will a lip oil provide a high gloss sheen to the lips but the lightweight texture is a joy to wear, as well as being infused with lip protecting and hydrating oils - coconut, pomegranate and raspberry oils in the instance of the Barry M versions, which coincidentally provides the fragrance to each lip oil too.

Thick of lip oils as super glossy, hard-working lip balms and you won't go far wrong; as an added bonus as they are oil based they will survive a dip in the pool or sea, all the while protecting your lips from drying out from the water. A summer staple in the making!

Kiko Cosmetics Limited Edition Trend Collection

In our minds we all have certain connotations of how budget beauty products should not only look but also preform. For too long, budget beauty has been associated with cheap, sub-par packaging and average formulations - all of which is just that, a connotation. One brand changing such attitude towards budget finds and the general landscape of affordable beauty brands is Kiko Cosmetics, the Italian company is quickly becoming a go-to destination for professionals and beauty junkies alike. If one collection will sway how you view pocket friendly beauty products forever, it will be the new Kiko Cosmetics Limited Edition Trend Collection - a huge 17 piece offering of rose gold, luxe casings and must-try beauty products for every taste and complexion.

Kiko Cosmetics Limited Edition Trend Collection

We've seen the term Instagram-able thrown around recently and as much as I hate such term, I can't deny that the Kiko Cosmetics Limited Edition Trend is not the definition of such phrase. I mean would you just look at the beautiful, somewhat embossed, rose gold packaging. Doesn't it leave you a little weak in the knees? The Kiko Cosmetics Limited Edition Trend outer casings was designed by Ross Lovegrove - a designer renowned for his futuristic work and as such created an aesthetic essence of elegance, sensuality, femininity, and of course practicality.

For me the stand out piece has to be the Kiko Desert Dunes Baked Blush (£16.90) - a trio of soft satin blush shade stripes that can be combined or used as standalone blushes. The Kiko Desert Dunes Baked Blush is available in three different colourways; I have the slightly dusky pink-come-plum tones of Impulsive Mauve - a great cool toned blush for most complexions, especially medium to deep skin tones. The beauty of this blush is that not only is it soft, easy to blend and slightly shimmer based (great if you want to skip highlighting) but it is very easy to apply in layers should you want a more intense finish. Although not an outright dupe, the texture and overall finish of the new Kiko Desert Dunes Baked Blushes is comparable to MAC MSF Skinfinishes - lightweight, comfortable to wear and most importantly flattering. Yes the Kiko Desert Dunes Baked Blush does have a slightly shimmery finish but it does not settle into enlarged pores nor fine lines, rather it brightens the complexion and injects a healthy glow.

Kiko Cosmetics Limited Edition Trend Collection

Lip oils are going to be huge this Summer and rightly so - you have all the sheen of a gloss but without any sticky, uncomfortable texture and perhaps most impressive the long lasting moisturising benefits of an oil based products. In my experience lip oils don't really offer a whole lot of pigment, they tend to be transparent or at the very most deliver a hint of a tint; the Kiko Heatwave Lip Oils (£10.90) are no different, three tropically scented, sheer moisturising lip treats that work with your natural lip colour rather than masking it. As Kiko Heatwave Lip Oils are of course oil based, they are somewhat waterproof and will survive a dip in the pool or sea; personally I think lip oils in general are by far cooler alternative option to lip balms. Watch this space.

Speaking of easy to wear and apply make-up, no Summer ready beauty bag is fully complete without one of the new Kiko In the Shadow Eyeshadow and Kajal Pencil (£9.90) - a duo ended, cream eyeshadow and liner pencil that allows you to create easy smoky looks in mere seconds. I've said it before and I'll say it again, no one within the budget sector comes close to Kiko when it comes to cream formulations - they are soft, easy to blend and super long wearing, even if you have oily skin. The Kiko In the Shadow Eyeshadow and Kajal Pencil will survive, heat, sweat and oil making it the ideal product to pack should you be jetting off somewhere warm. I have the Kiko In the Shadow Eyeshadow and Kajal Pencil in the shade Dark Brown and Gold - the dark brown kajal defines the eye and can be used to add a little drama to any look, where as the gold side is the perfect all round and multi-purpose cream highlighter.

Kiko Cosmetics Limited Edition Trend Collection
Kiko Cosmetics Limited Edition Trend Collection

Every person deserves a luxurious lipstick, a beautifully packaged product that you not only wear with pride but also one you pull out your handbag with pride - I realise this may seem a little shallow but we all need those little "look at me" moments. In my opinion there is no lipstick more beautiful than the Kiko Mirage Lip Stylo (£13.90) - a gorgeous, rose gold case that contains a beyond pigmented and comfortable, gel based lipstick, and all for less than £14. I have Kiko Mirage Lip Stylo in the shade Elderberry Spirit - a deep, vampy, brown tinged burgundy which I will saving for the colder seasons. I am so impressed with the formulation (and of course packaging) that once the new Glasgow store opens next week, I will be purchasing a few other shades.

Kiko Cosmetics Limited Edition Trend Collection

Lastly we have the Kiko Endless Sky Volume Effect Mascara (£12.90), a great choice for anyone who has naturally long eyelashes that requires a little more volume opposed to length. As someone with straight, flimsy lashes this is not best suited to my needs (I found it to be a little too heavy) but I can vouch that it is blacker than black, not prone to smudging and smearing, and coupled with a great natural fibre brush that grips and grabs onto even the smallest lashes. A great all round mascara for those with fairly long and naturally curled lashes to begin with.

I really hope this is the future of affordable cosmetics, don't you?

Yes the Kiko Desert Dunes Baked Blush does have a slightly shimmery finish but it does not settle into enlarged pores nor fine lines, rather it brightens the complexion and injects a healthy glow.
