I'd love to tell you that I bought Maison Martin Margiela Replica Jazz Club Eau de Toilette because I have a secret love for Jazz Music but I don't. I wanted the one fragrance created to replicate a small proportion of New York, as a somewhat permanent reminder of my time spent there and the strong, crisp notes of Jazz Club appealed the most. It really is that deep.
Luckily for me and my need to own a small piece of New York, Maison Martin Margiela Replica Jazz Club Eau de Toilette is an easy to wear but bold scent that feels very much at home within my fragrance collection. Admittedly, Jazz Club has been created with the male wearer in mind and does draw inspiration from Brooklyn Jazz Clubs circa 2013- think clinking glasses of liquor, cigars and a hint of smoke. It's woody, oriental and ever so slightly fruity - it is not the masculine, overbearing fragrance you may imagine it to be, rather it is perfectly unisex and easy to wear but rich at the same time.
Given where and what Maison Martin Margiela Replica Jazz Club draws its inspiration from you won't be surprised to learn that the note line up includes rum, bitter orange, vetiver, and tobacco leaves - this is alongside creamy vanilla, Tonka bean, pink peppercorn and a hint of neroli. The last note, along with tobacco and vanilla, may led you to believe that this wears similarly to Tom Ford Tobacco Vanille but I can vouch as a wearer of both, they are not at all comparable. Think of Jazz Club as the high end, cool gentlemen's club - one that sells lesser know drinks and showcases up-and-coming Jazz artists; where as Tom Ford Tobacco Vanille is the club you need a membership to get past the front door, and that the smoking in a public place laws are flouted because y'know money talks.
I own both and wear Maison Martin Margiela Replica Jazz Club Eau de Toilette more frequently which says it all really.
