Colab Active Dry Shampoo Review

Typically I'm not the biggest pusher of dry shampoo; sure it works, in that it absorbs excess oil and delicately scents the hair but other than that I can't say I find it all that useful. Yes a can resides on top of my bathroom cabinet, ready for those mornings I sleep later than intended but more often than not I wish I had washed my hair, rather than coating it in a layer of dry shampoo. Perhaps I have a delicate scalp - or more than likely a talent for bellyaching - but I find dry shampoo often leaves me scratching away at my head and attempting to blend the white residue into my hair. One brand that has impressed me over the years with their light, quick-to-work and beautifully scented dry shampoo's is Colab, and their latest launch Colab Active Dry Shampoo is no different.

I'd love to tell you that I am a gym bunny but I'd only be lying to myself, and of course to you - that however, doesn't stop me from using a hair care product aimed at those with more active lifestyles than myself. Yes, Colab Active Dry Shampoo is a little more heavy duty in oil reduction and as such a little more prone to residue compared to the other Colab Dry Shampoo's, however it is nothing that a quick brush through won't fix. My guess is that being a product aimed at exercise - be that before or after partaking in sport - that Colab wanted to be able to tackle not only oil but also sweat. I realise in an ideal world, after any exercise class or activity you will most likely want to wash your hair but that is not always possible. For those occasions I recommend grabbing a can of Colab Active Dry Shampoo, spraying generously through the roots of your hair without encouraging it to absorb, exercise and then brush out for maximum post-exercise oil/sweat absorption. A lovely image I'm sure.

If like me, the last time you stepped foot in the gym it was January and you actually cared about New Year resolutions then worry not, because Colab Active Dry Shampoo is so much more than a sport bag staple. Unlike other formulations of this kind, this mist on shampoo not only cleanses the hair but somewhat conditions too -  meaning that there is no gritty texture once applied, nor will it leave your locks feeling parched after frequent use. I also must add that although Colab Active Dry Shampoo does soften the hair, it does not reduce the voluminous effect that you would expect from a product of this genre - nor will it weigh the hair down or leave behind a greasy residue.

Oh but there is more, rather surprisingly Colab Active Dry Shampoo also contains a UV filter which admittedly may sound entirely unnecessarily but if you know the stress of brassy, blonde hair you may just appreciate this dry shampoo all the more. The idea is that the UV filter prevents such rays from penetrating the hair shaft, and in turn should reduce not only hair damage but also colour fade too - pretty clever huh?

If all of the above is not enough to have you running to Superdrug, ready to test Colab Active Dry Shampoo out for yourself, I want to add that this particular dry shampoo smells great. If you are familiar with the original Collab Monaco scent then you will know what to expect. If not then this may be one of the best smelling dry shampoos to date - soft, slightly floral, almost fruity and every bit sophisticated.

Your lazy morning routine and/or gym bag needs a bottle of its own.
