So I've just arrived in New York City after 18 hours of travelling and it is fair to say that I am both exhausted and excited in equal measures...okay maybe I am more tired than giddy but after a quick disco nap I will be raring to go. Since I am in the city that never sleeps (I am the exception), it seems only logical that I finally share my thoughts on the ever impressive Ofra New York Skyline Collection of liquid lipsticks. Way back in March, I ordered two of the latest Ofra Liquid Lipsticks both in shades that honour boroughs of NYC, admittedly I didn't pay too much attention to the names of the lipsticks and focused on the colours - the usual.
You'd be forgiven for assuming that Ofra Liquid Lipsticks are budget friendly (at nearly $20 each they aren't) due to the packaging style - a small transparent plastic tube with black accents and a simple but easy to use doe foot applicator. Despite being fairly basic in style, the small sizing is great for everyday use (it will fit into even the smallest of pockets), they don't leak and the soft, foam applicator glides over the lips with ease - you can't really ask for much more, now can you?
Although not the cheapest of liquid lipsticks, the Ofra shade range is expansive with no less than 50 shades - 8 of which are New York themed - there really is something for everyone. In the end, and after much deliberation, I purchased the shades Brooklyn and Staten Island - Brooklyn is the most perfect, deep, vampy, warm red-ish brown and Staten Island is a grey-taupe come nude - both are unusual and surprisingly easy to wear.
Shades aside - there are 50 to choose from after all - the formulation of the Ofra Liquid Lipsticks are pretty incredible. Despite being utterly matte, the Ofra formulation is soft, comfortable and not at all drying - they glide onto the lips with ease, dry to a matte finish in a matter of seconds and are not prone to flaking, smudging nor smearing and with a pro-longed wear time too - typically I can achieve around 6 hours of continued and true wear from one application.
Yes Ofra is a U.S based brand, which does mean if you do live in the U.K that you will have to order online and patiently await your order but trust me they are worth every penny.
You can find the entire range of Ofra Liquid Lipsticks here for $19.90 each - shipping rates do depend on location.
