It is mid-May (yes really) and the warmer months are certainly on the horizon (well we can only hope) and if you are anything like me, once the sun is out you may need a little persuading to fully look after the skin on your body - apparently sunscreen and after-sun doesn't quite cut it. Well once you inhale the utterly tropical aromas of the newly launched The Body Shop Pinita Colada collection (nope not a spelling error) - it is so good you may, or may not find yourself exclaiming "oh my God" on the store floor and thrusting a giant tub of coconut scented body butter into a strangers face - you'll never need reminded again to slap on a little body lotion. Now I am neither conforming nor denying that said excitable person was me, but I do need you to try this range as soon as you can, it will transport you to tropical islands and all for change of £10.
Can we discuss the fragrance of The Body Shop Pinita Colada range a little further? As you can most likely imagine it is a delectable blend of creamy coconut and juicy pineapple -of course much like the famous beverage it somewhat borrows its name from. If ever you have sat pool or beach side with a Pina Colada in your hand (alcoholic or not), prepare for sun soaked memories to come flooding back at first sniff - hangover optional.
The Body Shop Pinita Colada collection contains four bath and body products, all of which of course work harmoniously with one and other and just as well as a stand alone items too. If you only purchase one item from the Pinita Colada range let it be the shower gel (£5/250ml); this soap free formulation is gentle, deeply cleansing, utterly refreshing and lightly hydrating. For perfectly soft skin, all you need is a small scoop of The Body Shop Pinita Colada Body Scrub (£15/250ml)- the soft yet grainy scrub gently polishes and buffs the skin without being abrasive. To moisturise you have two options: the thick and luxurious texture of The Body Shop Pinita Colada Body Butter (£14/200ml), or the light, refreshing gel formulation of The Body Shop Pinita Colada Body Sorbet (£8/200ml) - which doubles up as an after sun to boot.
As far as I am aware, The Body Shop Pinita Colada collection is limited edition so you will have to stock up while you can - I have already ordered a duplicate set to ensure I am tropically scented all Summer long and beyond. As a sidenote, this range layers really well with the ever relied upon, warm weather fragrance staple that is Estee Lauder Bronze Godess Eau Fraiche.
So do you like Pina Coladas and being caught in the rain?
