A new season means one thing for all fellow Yankee Candle addicts - new fragrances. Just in time for Spring (and Summer) 2016 there are four new Yankee Candle scents to choose from in a variety of forms: of every size and of course wax tarts. Over the last few days I have tried out the entire Yankee Candle Riviera Escape Collection; some I like, some I love and others I have replaced and burned for hours on end. Let me share a few thoughts on each scent within the Yankee Candle Riviera Escape Collection.
Yankee Olive Oil and Thyme
On paper this is not a fragrance that I would naturally gravitate towards but in person it is pretty wonderful. Yankee Olive Oil and Thyme is of course a herbal blend of notes, that are soft and reminiscent of warm days spent in the countryside be it the UK or further afield. I realise this may seem odd but it has a certain innocence that reminds me of my childhood spent playing outdoors and picking flowers. It is lovely!
Yankee Summer Peach
I do like peach fragrances as long as they are sweet and not overly synthetic, sadly Yankee Summer Peach does not fit the bill. Yankee Summer Peach is a stuffy and dare I say it powdery peach scent, it is not bright and cheery nor zesty, like you'd expect a fruity fragrance to be. Nothing about it reminds me of Summer - sorry.
Yankee Sea Salt and Sage
Buy it, buy it now! Over the last days I have worked my way through several Yankee Sea Salt and Sage wax tarts as it is just so clean, and yet crisp and green at the same time. Yes it is ever so slightly aquatic due to the sea salt note and somewhat comparable to the Jo Malone fragrance of a similar name; the main difference is that Yankee Sea Salt and Sage is crisper and a little brighter. This is one of the best Yankee Candle fragrances in a long while - I'm praying that it does become permanent.
Yankee Riviera Escape
Not necessarily a criticism, especially if you enjoy but this is very much a typical aquatic fragrance. It isn't special but it is pleasant enough and great for burning any time of the day, I do however feel like Yankee offer at least five fragrances almost identical to this.
You can find all four new Yankee Candle Riviera Escape fragrances via Love Aroma £1.49 - £21.99 - link.
I have heard of those so many times that it is almost infinite. Have to try them.

That Sea Salt & Sage Candle sounds like it smells amazing! I'm a long time fan of the Jo Malone fragrance, so it'd be good to see a cheaper alternative!

The Olive and Thyme candle sounds so nice! It totally looks like summer, and I'm sure I'd love the scent. I also trust you with the Sea Salt and Sage candle, seems like a great scent as well! They definitely make a change from other scents, compared to the other two which sound like scents we've already seen in other brands and that are more common. :)

I love peach scents, so I really do hope I like the smell of that one! I can't see me liking any of the others mind. :(
