Maybelline Brow Drama Pomade Crayon

Like many I am utterly obsessed with Gigi Hadid; she is almost unworldly beautiful and has eyebrows that I could only dream of re-creating. With eyebrows so full, thick and dare I say luscious, it of course only makes sense that a brand such as Maybelline, would want to make the ever gorgeous Gigi the face of their latest brow products. Does Gigi Hadid really use or need such brow enhancers? Who knows but a great brow pomade is hard to come by, and when it costs less than £10 and utterly blows you a way, it is surely more than deserving of a mention or two. Enter Maybelline Brow Drama Pomade Crayon.

As you can see the Maybelline Brow Drama Pomade Crayon, is in-fact just that - a chunky crayon. If you are completely skilled within the field of brow application or have naturally full eyebrows, I'd imagine the fat crayon style will be more than a breeze and utterly convenient to use. If like myself your brows are a little on the sparse side, and/or you desire a little more precision, I recommend scraping a little of the pomade off and applying with a stiff brush. Skill woes aside, the Maybelline Brow Drama Pomade Crayon is great for travel, as the crayon is lightweight, dinky and of course not prone to spills and/or leaks - just ensure the lid is firmly intact to avoid make-up scribbles at the bottom of your bag.

The Maybelline Brow Drama Pomade Crayon comes in three shades: dark blonde, medium brown and dark brown - I surprisingly settled on medium brown, rather than dark blonde option as the latter was a little too ashen and not really suited to my needs. It does seem that the Maybelline Brow Drama Pomade Crayon do run a little on the light side, you can of course apply in layers or add a little brow powder over the top to both set and intensify the overall shade. The other issue is the amount of product - as you can see there isn't all that much in the tube, yes a little goes a long way but none-the-less I was somewhat disappointed.

Initially I was a little surprised by the Maybelline Brow Drama Pomade Crayon texture, within the packaging - and if past chunky crayons are anything to go by - it appears to be soft and super creamy, almost as if it would melt onto the skin. Yes it is easy to apply and does glide onto the brows with ease but it does have a certain waxy quality, this not only grips to the hairs but helps to tame and smooth the brows. In terms of comparison, I would say this is on par texturally with the likes of Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Pomade - the main differences being the price and overall form. Yes the Maybelline Brow Drama Pomade Crayon is slightly waxy but it is in noway difficult to use, nor sticky; I find the texture somewhat sticks to the brow hairs creating a fuller but totally natural in appearance finish. The other good news is that the wax base creates a waterproof- and maybe even sweat proof - barrier to lock your brows firmly in place. Maybelline have really hit a home run with this brow product.

Like I said if it is good enough for Gigi Hadid...
