New Rimmel Beauty Products Spring 2016

But when I do, it is catastrophic and damaging towards my bank balance.

I go through phases of avoiding the likes of Boots and Superdrug, telling myself I have no place in my beauty stash for yet another matte lipstick or less-than-needed contour powder and then there are the other occasions in which I leave with half of the store. Monday was one of those days, I finally got to see the new Rimmel products I had all but drooled over via social media and decided to treat myself to one or two...okay the entire line up of products.

Admittedly I have only began testing and in some instances admiring the products, so my current thoughts are very much preliminary. I will of course update with full reviews, swatches and other tales of visiting the UK's equivalent to drugstores - us Brits need to come together and create a collective term for Boots and Superdrug, drugstore doesn't quite cut it.

Rimmel Super Gel Kit (polish and top coat) in Soul Session £8.99 - link
I really enjoy the look and durability of a gel manicure - the expense and time it takes to undergo the procedure, not so much. The promise of a gel-like manicure at home without the need for UV lamps (forever something that troubles me as they age the skin), all for less than £10 was too much to pass up on. The idea is that you apply the Rimmel Super Gel Polish of your choosing and then seal the polish with the Rimmel Super Gel polish. So far I can report that it is quick and easy to use, how long it will remain chip free I do not know but I will be taking note over the weekend. As a parting note, Rimmel Soul Session is the most wonderful nude-come-beige that does not wash-out my complexion and does give the appearance of effortless chic manicured nails.

Rimmel #InstaFlawless £6.99 each - link
Instagram has created a monster, we all want flawless photo worthy skin don't we? I truly didn't think I'd find a product so clever for less than £10 and yet here we are. Rimmel #InstaFlawless is a primer-come-skin tint, all rolled into one. It gently perfects the surface of the skin, evens out the skin-tone, adds a little radiance, all the while perfecting and offering a little SPF too. The good news is that not only does the Rimmel #InstaFlawless base come in two shades: light to medium and medium to dark but it can also be worn under make-up or on its own. This is one product review I can not wait to type up, you need this.

Rimmel London Brow This Way Highlighter in Gold Shimmer £4.99 - link
An under the brow highlighter, do I need it? Nope not at all, but anything that can help create a bright eye and wide awake effect and you can bet I'll all but throw my money at the product. The idea is that this nifty, golden-toned pencil can be used to help create the illusion of lifted and more defined brows, as well as being used as a typical cream highlighting product. At the moment I'm not totally sold on the colour but I will of course review in full within the coming days.

Rimmel Kate Sculpting Palettes £6.99 - link
Now for the product that we all came to see, the new Rimmel Sculpting Palettes: two palettes that feature a bronzer, a highlighter and a blush to create perfectly sculpted cheekbones with ease. There is a palette for lighter complexions and one for deeper skin tones too. The idea is that you don't have to guess which shades work best with what and of course the convenience factor of having all three products within a handy, grab-sized palette too. So far I have been trying out the Rimmel Sculpting Palette in Coral Glow and have been suitable impressed, more so with the blush and highlighter, than the bronzer as it is a little shimmer based - the deeper palette Golden Bronze seems a little more suited to traditional contouring - but great none the less.

Rimmel certainly have a few new and affordable launches at the moment don't they?
