I love lip balm and have little tubes rolling around just everywhere: the bottom of bag, in the car and in every coat pocket - I consider it to be close to a travesty if I leave home without some kind of moisturiser for my lips. Now I like, maybe even love lot of lip balms but if I could only use one lip balm for the rest of my life it would be, Blistex Medicated Lip Balm. Yes it is an US import and no I don't have any idea if it will ever be readily variable within the UK, nor do I know why it never has hit UK shores; what I can tell you is that it is worth the hassle of tracking it down and of course paying a little over the odds to own a tube.
Why? Well being a tube design, Blistex Medicated Lip Balm is of course not only perfect for applying just about anywhere, as it is dinky in size there is not a pocket nor bag, that the Blistex Medicated Lip Balm does not slot inside of - not to mention it is hygienic and fuss free. This aspect is not exactly special as most lip balms are designed to be easily lugged around, what does allow Blistex Medicated Lip Balm to stand out from the crowd is the fact that it is medicated, budget friendly and contains a lip-loving SPF. Other than Carmex there are not many other lip balms, low-end or otherwise I can say this about.
Sure I love Carmex and use it frequently but it almost feels like my lips grow tired of it; after a week or so of use, all healing properties wane and it often seems as if my skin rejects the formula. With Blistex Medicated Lip Balm there is none of that: it instantly soothes, hydrates and of course heals my lips from day one and for as long as I need it. If you loathe the typically waxy textures of medicated lip products this is the lip balm you have been waiting for, it is lightweight yet creamy and perfect for layering under just about any other lip product you may own. As an added bonus this has a sweet, almost bubblegum scent that again adds to the whole user experience.
Simply pure Blistex Medicated Lip Balm is your everyday lip balm: it is gentle enough for everyday use, it protects the lips not only from the elements but also UV damage and will heal even the most chapped lips should you need it to. Do yourself a favour and order a stick or two of, Blistex Medicated Lip Balm and thank me later - very little compares to this balm, trust me.

I feel like my entire life is one big hunt for the perfect lip balm. I was using a medicated Chapstick but they seem to have discontinued it so I am definitely going to check this one out. I use a Blistex relief cream at night but I don't really want to be smearing my lips in it during the day so this may be the perfect alternative!
ReplyDeleteWhat is the difference between a medicated lip balm and a non-medicated one?
ReplyDeleteAlso if anyone is looking for an all natural lip balm I LOVE Thank God It's Natural (TGIN) lip balm. It is the only thing that keeps my mouth moist, hydrated and plump instead of just sticking on my lips. It's a little pricey and I order mine online but its totally worth it. But I think I may check out this blistex one next time I see it in stores!
I don't think I have ever completed a tube of lip balm. It seems to disappear every time! Good thing I always have one laying around. I'm currently testing out the Tarte Quench Lip Rescue and so far so good!

One thing I do not need is another lip balm but I'm always on the lookout for more, it's an addiction! This looks lush especially for the colder months, great post as always!

I'm a crazy obsessed Carmex user but I have to agree that sometimes it just doesn't feel like it's doing it's job just from overuse, maybe I'll switch it up!

I'm addicted to Burt's Bees Lip Balms, especially the Honey tube, this however looks like it ticks all the boxes. Must check it out, thanks for sharing!

This sounds amazing and I've had really good experiences with Blistex in the past! I'm always looking for a new balm as I don't think I've found 'the one' yet. x

I wonder why this one isn't available in the UK when other Blistex products are. It seems strange but other brands do it too don't they x
