Over the last 30 or so years, L'Occitane and the women of Burkina Faso have built a close bond with the The L'Occitane Foundation providing finical support as well as aid for vital literacy, education and micro-credit programmes, as well as producing the shea butter used in L'Occitaine product collections. What was once a partnership with a mere 12 local women, is now an enterprise with over 17,000 women, all whom produce the versatile ingredient. L’Occitane support these women by donating 100% of profits from the Solidarity Ultra-Soft Balm to fund special projects, and to keep the foundation going strong.
To be utterly clear I was sent a press sample to feature but as I do every year, I have purchased a further four balms: one for each of my sisters, my Mother and Grandmother. It has become a little tradition and a lovely way for us to mark Women's Day.
You can purchase the L'Occitane Solidarity Ultra-Soft Balm via L'Occitane both in-store and online for £4 - link.
