Bourjois City Radiance Foundation

I say it fairly frequently and stand by my admission - Bourjois is one of, if not the best budget foundation brand within the UK market, well as long as you can find a shade that suits your needs that is. The latest Bourjois launch is for those who enjoy a light, glowy, yet long-wearing and utterly comfortable base. Summer may seem like a long while off at the moment but if any budget base can survive humidity, it is Bourjois City Radiance Foundation.

I won't bog you down with the ins and outs of the Bourjois City Radiance Foundation packaging: it is fairly attractive, easy to use - thanks to the soft, plastic easy squeeze tube style and not prone to spills. At just 30mls per bottle it is also fairly lightweight and compact, meaning you could easily slot it into a travel/flight bag should you need/want to.

As mentioned above, my only bone of contention with Bourjois foundations is the shade range; generally it is very much limited and fairly yellow toned - great for light to medium neutral toned complexions, otherwise you may struggle finding a great match. Sadly this is very much the case with the newest Bourjois launch, Bourjois City Radiance Foundation: 6 shades, all of which are essentially light but unlike past launches not all are yellow based - there is some cool and warm undertones too. I have the shades 02 Vanilla and 04 Beige - I would say Vanilla is approx an NC15/20 and Beige is around the NW18/20 mark but please don't quote me on that.

Shade woes aside (I will purchase shade 03 and report back) this truly is a great foundation, not only is it a light, easy to blend and apply, the almost gel-like texture is both cooling and moisturising - perfect for normal, dry and oily skin types. The real selling point (finish aside of course) is the fact that this comfortable to wear base, protects the skin with a combination of SPF30 and a built in anti-pollution screen. Rather impressively both factors can help prevent premature ageing; I do recommend applying your regular daily SPF underneath this foundation - you can never be too careful after all.

If you are a fan of NARS Sheer Glow Foundation, I have a sneaky suspicion that you will more than enjoy Bourjois City Radiance Foundation. Admittedly Bourjois City Radiance Foundation is not an outright dupe but if fresh, plump, naturally glowing skin is what you crave then this does not disappoint. I would deem Bourjois City Radiance Foundation to be a sheer-come-medium coverage base: it will help to hide signs of fatigue, brighten and generally even out the skin tone, along with gently blurring imperfections, all the while looking entirely natural. Despite being fairly sheer, it does wear exceptionally well and holds up against oil, heat and even the odd smattering of rain; ideal for city living much like the name claims.

I am beyond impressed with the latest Bourjois launch and imagine it will be my go to base come the warmer months.
