A Complete Guide to Pixi Facial Mists

Pixi Beauty is such a great brand and a rarity amongst the cosmetic stands as they offer not only wonderful and effective skincare items but of course, also have a vast and well-loved make-up collection too. Seamlessly blurring the lines of skincare and cosmetics is the Pixi Facial Mists; three wonderfully formulated sprays, that offer various benefits and as most won't be in a hurry to purchase all three in one swoop, I thought a quick guide to the world of Pixi Facial Mists was in order.

A Complete Guide to Pixi Facial Mists

Pixi Glow Mist £16/80ml - link.
As the name suggests, Pixi Glow Mist has been formulated to give the wearer an instant hit of radiance. Unlike say a traditional highlighting product this does not impart any sort of shimmer onto the skin, rather it provides a soft and altogether subtle dewy effect. What you may not be able to see is that the Pixi Glow Mist contains no less than 13 natural oils, as well as Propolis, Aloe Vera and fruit extracts. This however does not result in a sticky nor greasy spray but perhaps is better suited to normal and drier complexions, opposed to oilier skin types as it is fairly hydrating. Pixi state that as will all of their facial mists this can be used three ways: to prime and protect the skin (it does so wonderfully and hydrates too), to set the make-up (I'm not convinced it does much in this sense) and whenever you feel you need to refresh and hydrate the skin be that with make-up on or not. In my opinion Pixi Glow Mist's secret power is being able to transform dried out and dare I say cakey make-up. If like myself you have a tendency to over powder your face and look a little less human as the end result, or find that as the day goes on your make-up looks less than fresh - this is Pixi Mist you want by your side. A few quick spritz and all signs of dried up make-up has gone, and all without removing the offending products from your face. It's magical.

Pixi Hydrating Milky Mist £18/80ml - link
This is the latest addition to the Pixi Facial Mist range and is seemingly the most popular, especially amongst those with a drier skin type.Forget what you know about facial moisturising sprays Pixi Hydrating Milky Mist is different, it includes: Hyaluronic Acid, Black Oat, Pro-vitamin A, and Linoleic Acid, so not only does it instantly plump, repair and soothe the skin but thanks to the Hyaluronic Acid it encourages the skin to retain moisture naturally. I deem the Pixi Hydrating Milky Mist as an on-the-go moisturiser, a spray that can be relied upon should your skin ever feel tight, uncomfortable or parched. Rather conveniently this mist can be used with other moisturising products for an intensive dose of hydration. If that is not enough it can be used as a primer before make-up (especially effective on drier complexions) and/or before a face mask (avoid using in conjunction with a peel off formulation). What I like most about the Pixi Hydrating Milky Mist is that it works; certain facial sprays in the past were no more than a refreshing spritz of water, my skin did not feel nourished nor cared for; this is not the case with the Hydrating Milky Mist, yes it refreshes but it instantly soothes, calms and hydrates the skin too.

Pixi Make Up Fixing Mist £16/80ml - link.
Much like most make-up setting sprays you apply Pixi Make Up Fixing Mist after you have finished your make-up to keep things in place, but did you know you can use it as a primer? Simply mist on the skin before make-up application, allow to dry and apply make-up as usual. Pixi Make Up Fixing Mist has been formulated so it also refreshes and hydrates the skin, using rose water and green tea extracts and can be used throughout the day for that reason alone, much like other cooling facial mists. As I imagine most will purchase Pixi Make Up Fixing Mist in the hope prolonging make-up wear, which it does; it keeps my make-up from not only sliding off my face but to some extent also offers a little oil control, all without parching my skin of natural moisture, nor altering the finish of any make-up it is applied on top of. As a matter of a fact I would deem this to be fairly hydrating without overwhelming the complexion. I will admit that it is not as heavy duty nor as long lasting as the Urban Decay All Nighter option but then again it does offer more skin care benefits.

I hope this makes deciding on which Pixi Beauty Facial Mist to purchase a little easier?
