High End Beauty Haul 2016

I've promised myself that 2016 will be the year I save - I want to travel more and generally stop frittering my money away on products that I use once. I have swore that from here on out, all beauty purchases will be well thought out and not spur of the moment decisions; I'm hoping to live by the use more, buy less mantra - all well said and done, 15 days into the first month of the year, of course. Anyway I was given a little cash for Christmas and decided to treat myself to a few things on my wishlist.

High End Beauty Haul 2016

Tom Ford Fleur de Portofino Eau de Parfum £145 via Net-a-Porter - link

This light, aquatic come floral fragrance has all but haunted me since last Summer, at £145 I wanted to wait until I had completed a few bottles of scent within my already expansive collection first. I'm not sure if this is my favourite fragrance within the Tom Ford Portofino line up, what I will say it is the most feminine and floral out of the bunch. Well I say that now, apparently two new fragrances are due to join the Portofino collection come the Summer; I'm excited, my bank balance not so much.

High End Beauty Haul 2016

Nars Audacious Lipsticks £24 each via Feel Unique - link

One of my favourite lipstick formulations ever and I mean ever, has to be Nars Audacious Lipstick. The soft, creamy and utterly comfortable texture is perfect for those like myself with forever dry lips, not to mention the shades are so easy to wear and on the most part fairly natural. Two shades I have admired and promised myself I would eventually own are: Barbara and Raquel, two cool toned nude pink washes of colour that will pretty much see me through all situations - an investment if you will.

High End Beauty Haul 2016

Charlotte Tilbury Light Wonder Foundation £32 via John Lewis - link
Charlotte Tilbury Magic Foundation £29.50 via John Lewis - link
Charlotte Tilbury The Retoucher Conceal and Treat Stick £25 via John Lewis -link
Charlotte Tilbury Air Brush Flawless Finish Skin Perfecting Micro-Powder £33 via John Lewis - link

Restraint is not my middle name but in my defence I have held off purchasing the above loot for quite some time and in my defence I did my beauty homework before parting with any cash. You see I actually swatched all but one product in store, given it was in July but I think waiting over 6 months before splurging on any product shows some sort of consideration, non? Anyway, I finally own pretty much every Charlotte Tilbury product I have ever swooned over and as such I'm suitably content.

Obviously it is very early days with any product within this haul (I went shopping on Monday) but I can share a few quick thoughts on one foundation, the powder and the concealer so here goes...

Charlotte Tilbury Light Wonder Foundation - light, nourishing, radiance inducing and super comfortable. In terms of coverage I would say it is buildable but best described as light to medium - ideal for covering redness and maybe even light scarring but not the foundation I'd reach for when plagued with blemishes.

Charlotte Tilbury The Retoucher Conceal and Treat Stick - Very similar to YSL Touche Eclat at the moment, I'm not convinced I *need* it. Perhaps my mind will change after a week or so of properly using the product but for now I'm not blown away.

Charlotte Tilbury Air Brush Flawless Finish Skin Perfecting Micro-Powder - Holy smokes, this is one finely milled pressed powder, I kid you not when I say I have never experience anything like it. It is basically weightless yet offers a hint of coverage, all the while leaving the skin beautifully matte. I am hooked and now understand why everyone raves about this particular product.

Yes my bank balance took quite the beating but on the most part I'm really happy with my purchases; I will of course be featuring and reviewing everything above in due course, until then let me know if you have tried anything in this post.
