Don't fret I don't have 19 new candles to share today, I mean give me a few weeks and I'm sure I'll be close to that number given my home fragrance obsession but for today I only have one new candle. A delicious, I-only-want-to-burn-you kinda candle, that smells unlike anything else I own and oddly familiar at the same time. It's fresh, it's spicy, it's zesty and I kinda want to eat it (I won't), let me tell you a little more about Nineteen Candles and their Roadhouse scent.
I'm guessing that a lot like myself, you will be new to Nineteen Candles - I was introduced to the brand via a random newsletter (I'm enjoying the current rival of weekly catch up emails aren't you?), and immediately clicked purchase - the rest as they say is history. After a little research, I have learnt that Nineteen Candles is a Topanga Canyon, California, created and based brand that have created 10 (I kinda assumed there would be 19 scents didn't you?) all naturally scented, soya candles, all of which have been inspired by places and memories. As the packaging all but dictates, this is one helluva cool brand and one I can imagine will keep you interested for years to come. Let's face it, home fragrance has become stale and it is about time a brand shook things up a little.
After much deliberation, I settled on Nineteen Candles Roadhouse fragrance - the zesty yet spicy blend appealed to me and as I owned nothing at all like at home, I threw caution to the wind and it has paid off. Nineteen Candles Roadhouse Candle has been created to mimic the vibe of the iconic 1960's and 1970's bar and music venue - The Corral in Topanga, California (of course).
It was in such roadhouse acts such as The Eagles, Joni Mitchell, Neil Young and The Rolling Stones, played sets. The Corral is also said to be the inspiration for The Door's "Roadhouse Blues" - the more y'know huh? This candle is a boozy, lime spiked, old wood tinged tribute to such venue and I think Nineteen Candles have hit the nail on the head. The notes of Star Anise, Juniper, Lime, Benzoin and Cardamom fuse together to create a grown up, nostalgic blend .Nineteen Candles Roadhouse is cooler than cool and something for those who crave something a little different; a statement that stands true for the brand on the whole. I will be back for more.
And yes, once I have burned this candle to a mere wisp, the empty porcelain container will be re-purposed - most likely to be found in my kitchen, housing a white bloom or two.
You can shop Nineteen Candles via Trove Store - link.

Sounds great, I've really gotten back into candles lately. Right now I think I am going to have to give in and purchase the Diptyque Olympia Le-Tan Rosaviola Candle though, that pink jar it comes in is just too tempting!
ReplyDeleteThey had one of these in TK max yesterday and it smelt amazing, I wish I purchased it!

Thanks for the thoughtful review! Roadhouse is one of my favorites also. One day I'll have 19, but I'm working on #11 now, so it will be a while...
