B. Refreshed Essence Lotion

I think we can all agree that 2016 is the year in which Korean skincare and innovations will go mainstream. As someone very new to Asian skincare I find this all very exciting and dare I say addictive - I now own more sheet masks that what can be considered normal. Anyway one product I imagine we will be seeing more of within the UK is essence lotion - an Asian skincare staple that I think we can all make space for within our daily routines. One of the first UK brands to jump on the essence bandwagon is B. with, B. Refreshed Essence Lotion.

Like most Korean beauty products I am not the most clued up, it's a very new world to me so do feel free to correct me if my facts aren't entirely straight. From what I have gathered Essence lotions are not a form of toner, however you would be forgiven for thinking so as they do have a similar texture. Essence lotions are not intended for cleansing the skin, rather they have been created to deeply nourish and moisturise the skin. The application process of Essence is also pretty different from what you'd imagine - rather than swiping the light, liquid onto the skin using a cotton pad, you pat and massage the hydrating liquid onto the face. You of course apply Essence lotion after your complete cleansing process but before moisturising - a little like a serum.

B. Refreshed Essence Lotion

My first dabble with Essence Lotion has been surprisingly pleasant and affordable, B. Refreshed Essence Lotion costs a mere £6.99 via Superdrug. The light, silky liquid gently nourishes the skin without overwhelming nor ever being greasy - it is cooling and a joy to apply. It is perfect for a little additional moisture in the colder months, or in general for those with naturally dry skin. B. Refreshed Essence Lotion has been infused with: Allantoin (a form of Glyoxylic Acid) to soften, protect and soothe the complexion, Algae Extract to smooth and a hefty dose of Hyaluronic Acid to moisturise intensively and for up to 12 hours after application. I have been using this lotion for a little over a week and combined with daily sheet masks my skin has never looked nor felt better. My complexion is softened, brighter and I find that my foundation applies better - not to mention that the extra moisture is more than appreciated during the current cold snap.

In a nutshell, not a skin care fad but rather a great and quick way to brighten and nourish the skin quickly - I have also read that with continued use Essence lotions may have an anti-ageing effect on the skin. You need to grab a bottle and soon.
