Tom Ford lipsticks are quintessentially the Rolls Royce of the beauty world, not only are they beautifully presented but the shades and formulations are very wearable, making them well worth the investment. If I could persuade you to purchase any Tom Ford lipstick in the coming weeks it would have to be Tom Ford First Time Lipstick from the Tom Ford Noir Colour Collection, probably the most perfect pinky-nude I have encountered in a long time.
The Tom Ford Noir Colour Collection is Tom Ford's beauty based, Holiday collection that consists of smoky eye shades, coloured mascara, a vampy nail polish (below) and of course Tom Ford First Time Lipstick. The lipstick is the real star of the show: a swish gold and black case (the corrugated texture on the case sets this aside from the regular lipstick line) containing a mid toned, milky pink lipstick that has a slight yellow undertone. It is very much a suit most shade - I do fear it could be a little too stark on deeper complexions but for light to medium skin tones it is a easy shade to wear. Surprisingly this is a matte formula, I do hasten to add that it is neither flat in finish nor drying in texture - rather it glides on with ease, delivering high levels of pigment and does not cling to any dry areas of the lips. If that is not enough it wears true for around two hours per application - no flaking, nor smearing. I'm a little...okay a lot in love with Tom Ford First Time Lipstick and can not get enough. You can find it here via Selfridges for £42 (ouch but oh so worth it) - link.
What goes better with a minimal, nude lip? Deep, shimmering and dramatic nails that is what. I can't think of a better nor more luxe nail shade, that will see you through the festive season with ease than Tom Ford Black Onyx Nail Lacquer. As the name may suggest this is a metallic, pewter shade that in some lights reflects black. It is dramatic yet glamorous and surprisingly flattering. It is party ready without going down the glitter route and perhaps most remarkably it is opaque in only one quick coat. A really, pretty and grown up, less than obvious festive shade that I imagine will top many a Winter wish list. You can find Tom Ford Black Onyx Nail Lacquer £30 via Selfridges - link.
I don't know about you but I am very excited to see what 2016 brings in the way of Tom Ford beauty launches.
