The One With All The Beauty Baubles

The One With All The Beauty Baubles

When I think of Christmas I tend dream of Snow, Turkey and the frustration of trying to tie the perfect bow on gifts (Pinterest tutorials don't always run smoothly). I also associate the big day with St.Nick and dazzling Christmas trees, which coincidentally brings me to beauty baubles. Yes, the concept that was once very much a novelty is now big news with several brands offering, dinky, hollow baubles brimming full of cosmetics. Forget popping them in a stocking, hang it proudly on your tree for all to admire, or you could do what I did - max out your credit card, buy one of each, hang on a mini blue Christmas tree and admire your handy work.

The What You See, Is What You Get Baubles

As you will later see within this post, some baubles have been created with an element of surprise and others showcase their contents in transparent and often glittery plastic casings. For those who have no time for surprises or perhaps plan on gift wrapping the baubles here is a selection of the best "What You See, Is What You Get" Baubles...

Lanolips 101 Ointment Cranberry Bauble £7.99 via Feel Unique - link
Struggling to purchase a gift for the person who has everything? Well what about a festively fragranced multi-purpose balm that will gently soothe and heal cracked skin be it on the lips, face or body. This edition of the award winning Lanolips 101 Ointment has been enriched with Cranberry extract, offering antioxidant properties. Purchase one for a loved and one for yourself and thank me later.

Caudalie Divine Oil Christmas Bauble £8 via Space.NK - link
Another great suit all recommendation would be the Caudalie Divine Oil Bauble; 15mls of an apply everywhere oil that will nourish hair, nails and skin all Winter long, making dry skin and hair a thing of the past.

Molton Brown Bauble £10 via Boots - link
What could be better on a cold day, than a warming shower with a bottle of Molton Brown Body Wash? Honestly nothing, unless it comes presented in bauble form - I mean, really who could resist?

Ghost Fragrance Baubles £4.50 each via Boots - link
Ghost have a selection of four fragrance baubles to choose from, all of which feature a beautiful glitter flecked bauble and a 5ml bottle of one of their best selling fragrances. At just £4.50 each these make great stocking stuffers or secret Santa gifts. I ended up purchasing two Ghost Girl (perfect for those who like younger fragrances) and Ghost Deep Night (deep, vampy and ideal for night wear).

Mavala Christmas Bauble £5 via Boots - link
If ever there was a season to embrace glitter nail polish, it has to be Winter. For just £5 you can be the proud owner of the Mavala Christmas Bauble which contains a full sized bottle of one of their best selling, glitter polishes. I settled on the shade Magic Circus - a green, silver and red glitter flecked nail polish that is ideal for jazzing up any manicure.

The Surprise Baubles

Say gift wrap isn't your forte and you need to pick up a surprise gift or two for loved ones be it for inside their stocking or to make their Christmas tree a little more special, then this is the range of beauty baubles for you.

L'Occitane en Provence Shea Butter Bauble £10 via Debenhams - link
Four dinky, try me sizes of L'Occitane's best selling Shea Butter products, including: a shower gel, body lotion, hand cream and soap. An ideal introduction to the brand or the perfect gift for those who travel a lot.

Burt's Bees Classic Beeswax Hand and Lip Tree Decoration £6.99 via John Lewis - link
This nifty bauble offers a skin soothing remedy for both the hands and lips, with a full sized Burt's Bees Classic Lip Balm and a mini Burt's Bees Hand Salve. A suit all ages beauty gift if ever there was one.

No.7 Star Bauble £6 via Boots - link
Another great glitter nail polish option, the No.7 Star Bauble not only offers up one of the most beautiful gift boxes I have seen in a long while but also a full sized bottle of No7 Stay Perfect Nail Polish Milan. A great gift for nail polish fanatics.

Aromatherapy Associates The Star £10 via Space.NK - link
Again a great gift box, a festive red star that will look great hung on any Christmas Tree or of course stuffed into a stocking but the contents are (excuse the pun), the real star of the show. The Aromatherapy Associates The Star bauble contains a 9ml bottle of Revive Morning Bath and Shower Oil, to offer a quick pick me up when time is not on your side.

Ted Baker Mini Treasures £4 each via Boots - link
Inside a pretty, pastel adorned diamond shaped box lies a cute, mini Ted Baker Body Butter that not only smells incredible but doubles up as a hand cream. The ideal luxury yet budget friendly gift.

Emma Hardie Moringa Cleansing Balm Bauble £10 via Space.NK - link
This is my favourite bauble of the bunch, one of my must have cleansers in mini form complete with a muslin cloth - what is not to like? If you have yet to try Emma Hardie's Moringa Cleansing Balm this offers the perfect opportunity to do so, it is also the perfect, small gift for those who swear by the cleanser.

Yankee Candle Bauble £6.49 via Amazon - link
Say you or a loved one have had a great year and want a little something to forever mark the last 365 days? The Yankee Candle Bauble offers a sweet way to commemorate the days gone by, with a pretty metal yet hollow bauble (you could re-fill it) containing three festive, full sized wax tarts. Great year or not, this is also ideal for those who enjoy home fragrance.

This Works The Calm Hug £10 via Boots - link
What better gift, than the gift of sleep? The This Works The Calm Hug tree ornament features a full sized pot of Sleep Balm which you simply dab on pulse points to help promote a restful night of slumber. It is also wonderful for helping to calm a nervous traveller.

Balance Me Body Beautiful £6 via Feel Unique - link
Not technically a bauble but if you thread a little ribbon through the star shaped hole, hey presto. The Balance Me Body Beautiful contains a 30ml tube of the award winning Balance Me Rose Otto Body Cream - an indulgent way to reduce and treat dry skin.

The Baubles to Stash Under the Tree

The above gift sets are all technically Christmas baubles, in the sense that they have a loop to hand them upon the tree. The problem is that they are all exceptionally large and weighted which could result in a broken or toppled over tree. For that reason alone, I suggest you prop them up under the tree and admire in a different light.

Soap and Glory Belle of the Ball £12 via Boots - link.
Admittedly I do feel like you are paying for the tin bauble rather than the products inside but if you, or a loved one are a huge Soap and Glory fan, I can imagine that this will go down well. Inside the Soap and Glory Belle of the Ball you will find: three Smoothie Star products - a bath and shower gel, a scrub and a hand lotion, along with a body loofah and body cream.

The Body Shop Glazed Apple Feel Good Tin £17 - link
Probably my favourite festive gift set around, not only do you recieve a large, re-usable apple shaped tin but the products inside are beautifully scented with the less than typical, Glazed Apple fragrance. The Body Shop Glazed Apple Feel Good Tin contains mini sized bath and body products, such as: body butter, body lotion, a body scrub and a shower gel.

I Love Festive Joy Cherry Almond Sparkle Bubble Bath & Shower Créme £4 via Superdrug (in-store only)
For just £4 you can treat yourself or a loved one with a huge, 500ml bottle of I Love Cherry Almond Sparkle Bubble Bath & Shower Créme, that comes complete with a body puff and pretty gift box. In my opinion it smells a lot like Cherry Bakewell Tarts and along with being a great body cleaner, it doubles up as a sweetly scented bubble bath - 'tis the season after all.

A lengthy list with plenty of options, what bauble would like to be gifted the most and why? As a side note what are your general thoughts and feelings, in regards to beauty baubles?
