As a huge fan of the original Beauty Blender, it is more than fair to say that I am forever intrigued by any sponge like launches the brand unveil - I actively stalk Sephora's What's New page. Think of all the beauty tools that have sprouted up over the last few years and tell me other than the humble Beauty Blender, how many have seriously revolutionised how we apply make-up? Exactly. With that in mind, I was curious to see if the Beauty Blender Blotterazzi (foam like blotting sheets), could change how I control excess oil and perhaps work out to be an economical option for all fellow oily skinned readers - that and I'm a sucker for anything new and novel.

The Beauty Blender Blotterazzi, as you can see composes of two, thin, tear drop shaped, neon pink, foam blotting sheets - both of which are presented in a compact, plastic case that comes complete with a mirror. At the bottom of the case (which I stupidly forgot to photograph) there are vents to prevent bacteria build up and to keep the sponges from becoming stuck together - I've read that you are meant to keep the used sponge at the bottom of the case. Unlike the Beauty Blender these have been created for on the go use and to be stashed inside your everyday make-up bag to reduce shine as and when needed. Perhaps the Beauty Blender Blotterazzi can be best described as reusable blotting sheets. Each sponge should last 60 days, it is recommended that you wash as you would a beauty blender, every few days - y'know for the sake of your skin.

Unlike the Beauty Blender family, you do not use the Beauty Blender Blotterazzi sheets damp, rather you simply pat onto the skin to absorb any excess oil. As someone who struggles with oily skin I really wanted to fall in love with the concept of the Beauty Blender Blotterazzi - I hate the feeling of several layers of powder on my face and find that traditional blotting sheets do tend to remove a lot of my make up. Sadly I don't think the Beauty Blender Blotterazzi sheets are for me; to reduce the excess oil I have found you really have to push hard down on the foam, even then it doesn't remove all traces of excess sebum. Perhaps my skin is just a little too oily? What I will say is that the Beauty Blender Blotterazzi sheets do not remove nor soak up make up which I can not commend enough, it is just a shame that they don't leave me nearly as shine free as I'd like.
