Bath and Body Works Autumn Candle Haul

You don't visit the US and leave without a candle from Bath and Body Works, in my circle that is practically unheard of - to be fair I do feel my enthusiasm for candles rubs off on others and for that I do apologise but at least come a black out you will be suitably stocked up? Always looking on the bright side (geddit?). Well my last trip to Florida entailed an afternoon or two spent at the mall stocking up on all the beautiful, cosy and often Pumpkin inspired scents. The good news is that if you do live (or are visiting) in the US or anywhere that has a Bath and Body Works all of the scents that I picked up are available online and in store.

First up we have Bath and Body Works Apple Pumpkin Pancakes, easily my favourite ever and I mean ever Bath and Body Works fragrance. I can't say I have ever personally experienced Apple Pumpkin Pancakes but if they taste half as good as this candle smells, count me in. The best way to describe this scent is fruity yet warming and dare I say savoury based. Think of a freshly baked apple pie but with a little depth (this has a walnut note) and you won't go far wrong. I honestly can't get enough and I'm so glad I bought two of this candle - my now broken suitcase as a result of all the additional weight, not so much.

Bath and Body Works are King of the Pumpkin scented candle but after a while and please forgive me for saying this, they all start to smell the same. That is why I was so pleased to see a fairly novel spin on a typical Autumn scent, enter Bath and Body Works Pumpkin Coconut Candle. Truthfully the Coconut note is the one that does all the talking but there is a hint of spice and warmth that your standard Coconut scent can not offer. Imagine a Pumpkin spiced cake topped with creamy Coconut and you won't have to wait for Google to invent a scratch and sniff screen, can you say yum?

On a whim I purchased a Bath and Body Works Thankful Candle, a deep, slightly earthen and aromatic scent that features hints of Chestnut and Clove - both of which I'm told are fitting for a Thanksgiving scent. If I am entirely honest I bought this candle because of the cute turkey embossed lid, ridiculous considering I'm Scottish and my only real grasp of such holiday is what the T.V show Friends has taught me. As bizarre as my shopping methods may be this is a fairly festive scent that will be ideal for burning at family meals.

I also have Bath and Body Works Thanksgiving Harvest (Sweet Cinnamon Pumpkin) and Thanksgiving Morning (Pumpkin Pecan Waffles) mini candles but they were free gifts and I wasn't able to pick the scents; not that I am complaining, I'm all over Pumpkin scents. Both are fairly typical, a little spicy, rich and noticeably Pumpkin based. If you like the robust, warming aroma of seasonal spice go for Sweet Cinnamon Pumpkin and if you prefer slightly more sugary come baked scents, Pumpkin Pecan Waffles is your go to guy.

One of Bath and Body Works best selling fragrances apparently is Sweater Weather, I can see why. A clean yet cosy scent that is very crisp. It doesn't scream Autumn in the typical load it with apple and spice notes, rather this relies on accents of eucalyptus, juniper berry and sage. In my opinion it is like the icy cold air of a November morning - I hope that makes sense?

Every time I go to America I purchase a Bath and Body Works Leaves Candle and I'm never really all that sure why. It is a nice enough scent but it really isn't all that special and yet it does somewhat have cult status among us candle lovers. To me it is a fairly typical, spice tinged, red apple fragrance - nothing more, nothing less.

As a parting note, if you do plan on visiting Bath and Body Works be sure to sign up for their mailing list, I can't begin to tell you just how often they send exclusive discount codes and vouchers.
