Tarte is a brand I'm sure most of us would like to see permanently within the UK, perhaps even in the likes of Debenhams or the House of Fraser? At the moment you will only find Tarte via QVC who do a great job of providing, specially curated sets of best selling products for a somewhat discounted price. New for October is the Tarte 7 Piece High Performance Naturals Collection, a line up of seven essential, must try products neatly presented within a deep purple travel case - all for £51!
I often feel that with make up collections the free or included cosmetic bag is an afterthought, well not in the case of the Tarte 7 Piece High Performance Naturals Collection. The well made, wipe clean purple PVC case is roomy, yet compact enough for daily use and features an in-built brush pouch to keep your tools safe while on the go. Inside such bag you will find:
Amazonian Clay Full Coverage Airbrush Foundation and Airbuki bamboo Powder Foundation Brush
Commendably Tarte realise that one shade of foundation does not suit all and have offered a somewhat customisable option as far as the foundation element goes. You can choose from seven shades: fair honey, light beige, light-medium, medium neutral, tan sand and rich sand. This is a powder foundation that has been infused with Amazonian clay and natural, light-reflecting gemstones to create a luminous, natural, long wearing and somewhat waterproof base. I do find this foundation offers great coverage but is very flat and matte in appearance, the good news is that it can double up as loose face powder should you wish. You can read a full in depth review and see swatches of a few shades here. - link.
This contains six eyeshadows and one full sized blush. I do think that Tarte excel at pressed powder formulations and have went on record many a time stating that for my oily skin I have never found a longer wearing blush. The eyeshadows are all beautifully pigmented, soft and easy blend and come in the following shades: Golden Opportunity (golden bronze), Sienna the Future (burnt sienna), Like You a Latte (brown), Highlight of my Day (pearl), Cream of the Crop (beige), Mauve Mountains (plum mauve). The blush as mentioned is full sized and comes in a beautiful, easy to wear warm peach that is ideal for most complexions and occasions.
Tarte Double-ended Eyeshadow Brush
An angled brush that features a unique, angled tip to allow for easy application. One brush is flat to pack on colour and the other is soft and fluffy for blending out harsh lines.
Tarte Lights, Camera, Lashes 4-in-1 Mascara in Black
This formulation irritates my eyes so I am not the best person to share my opinion, so let's rely on the official description. It has been designed to lengthen, curl, volumise and condition, delivering evenly-coated pigment while helping to protect lashes. Infused with plant botanicals and waxes.
Tarte Silk Amazonian clay Eyeliner in Black BrownA soft, creamy liner presented within an automatic pencil style format for easy use. The deep brown shade is less harsh and dare I say eye opening opposed to your typical black liner shade, and thanks to the gel like formulation it is a breeze to not only apply but blend out too. As an added bonus it does not smudge or smear and is ideal for wearing on both the eye lid and waterlines. Speaking of smudging this a liner you can smudge/smoke out with ease should you wish, the process is made all the more straight forward due to the smudging tool at the the end of the pencil.
Tarte Coconut Oil Lipstick in Primrose
This is the product that impressed me the most, a buttery soft lipstick that has been infused with coconut oil to both moisturise and protect the lips. The shade itself is beautifully pigmented, a muted, dusky red-pink that will suit most complexions. I would best describe as a gel like texture, on the lips it almost feels cooling, is a breeze to apply, provides full coverage, is comfortable and long wearing, all the while not being prone to smudging nor smearing. Every make up kit needs this.
If you have yet to try Tarte cosmetics this is a great kit to invest in as it gives you a real feel for the brand, otherwise the palette and lipstick within this kit are not to missed!

Um YES, YES, freaking YES! Woah Tarte have killed it with this very wearable collection, huh? especially since I haven't got any Tarte in my collection yet and find that all of those colours and shades I'd wear constantly. It's a shame the mascara irritates your eyes - hate it when products do that (I have sensitive eyes too, so have to be careful of this!).
ReplyDeleteI'm very intrigued. I wonder if I can find it for sale here in Australia...
