All I ask from this post is that you forget about the shades below (what do you think this is a beauty blog ha!) and concentrate on the formulations. With Sephora shipping to the UK there's never been a better time to be alive, I jest but it does open up a whole new world of beauty options and brands, one such is Sephora's own brand - most notably their lip products. In the excitement of visiting a Sephora store or of course ordering online you may side step Sephora's own beauty line but I urge you to take the risk, order, try and perhaps covet some of the lip products below.
Sephora Cream Lip Stain
Perhaps the most well known Sephora lip product and for a very good reason, they are easily one of if not the best matte lip cream come lip colours I have ever used. Think beautifully pigmented, comfortable to wear, long wearing yet not at all drying nor are they prone to smudging, smearing nor flaking or bleeding. Matte perfection if you ask me and at just $14 (£9.24) each they are a snip and easily out shine pricer alternatives - if anything I would say they are a dupe for the Hourglass Opaque Rouge Liquid Lipstick. For curious minds I have the Sephora Cream Lip Stain in Infinite Rose - a nude based pink, they have now discontinued my favourite nude shade and replaced it with several new and bright options.
Sephora Luster Matte Long-Wear Lip Color
If you struggle with dry lips and yearn for a matte lip colour this is the formulation for you, every bit as pigmented as the Sephora Cream Lip Stain yet slightly more hydrating thanks to the addition of Rose hip seed oil. If anything this is a lighter texture too, as far as matte lip options go this is the closest to weightless you will find - it glides (thanks to the easy to use, flat doe foot applicator that hugs the lips) onto the lips providing opaque yet not flat colour, isn't prone to smudging, smearing or cracking and will last the pace of the day with ease (I get around 6 hours of true wear per application). I like to think of Sephora Luster Matte Long-Wear Lip Color as a modern day matte - classic matte lip shades that actually take care of your lips during wear. You can't ask for more (well you can, you probably won't get it that's all). At $16 (£10.66) each they are still affordable and again on par with higher end products. As a side note I have the shade Lilac Luster - a milky, almost grey toned pink come lilac that tinkers on mauve.
In my experience long wearing lipsticks tend to be tacky, not in appearance but rather in texture. I've had flirtations with long wearing lip formulations only to be put off by the sticky, uncomfortable, gather in every line texture. Not everyone enjoys matte lip stains nor lip liners for that matter and not everyone has the time to reapply lipstick several times a day; there is plenty of room for a lipstick with longevity within the beauty market, it just so happens finding the ideal balance of formula is not so easy. If you do happen to place a Sephora order or pop in store any time soon, do check out the Sephora Color Lip Last Lipsticks - an affordable ($14/£9.24), soft, almost gel like creamy lipsticks that glide on to the lips, free of any sticky texture and stay put for at least four hours. It's the lipstick busy city slickers have been dreaming off. I know I stated this post is about formulations rather than shades but there is nothing more frustrating than reading about a product and not being able to jot down the shade name/number. For reference this is 08 Pink-Spiration, a fairly muted, medium pink come nude that suits most complexions. It is not particularly a unique shade but it is flattering and gives the impression of larger lips, in my experience at least.
Sephora Nano Lip Liner
Lip liners - gosh I love lip liners but a lot like nail polish I never quite finish a pencil, and don't get me started on how many lip liners I have lost along the way. The answer is numerous for those who are wondering. For this reason alone I adore Sephora Nano Lip Liners - dinky, half sized pencils that don't compromise on quality on formula. At $5(£3.30) the Sephora Nano Lip Liners are entirely budget friendly and a great way to try out a new shade or two without commitment, and as mentioned the formulation has not been scrimped on. If like myself you like to use lip liners all over your lips you will be pleased to learn that the Sephora Nano Lip Liners (and the general Sephora lip liner line) feature a non-drying, matte yet creamy texture that glides on to the lips and is generally a dream to work with. You can of course use them in the traditional sense to line the lips before lipstick should you wish. At just over £3 every bag, pocket and side of the sofa (you know that is where everything hides) needs at least one shade.
Now if only we could convince Sephora to open a physical premise within the UK...

Completely agree with you! I'm a big fan of their lip stains, which are the best available in the market right now, imo. If they made more colors, it would be so good! Not too much of a fan of the Lustre aspect, as it's too glossy for me, though! x
