For many, myself included L'Occitane is the first word in bath and body care, not content with lining our bathroom shelves with beautiful lotions and potions, L'Occitane are now tackling the world of home fragrance with six new fragrances in three different forms. I kid you not when I say you will want to collect them all.
Typically speaking I am not a huge fan of reed diffusers, don't get me wrong they are a lovely option for those that can't light candles for whatever reason but I prefer the ambience of a flickering candle. Luckily five of the six scent options are not only available within reed diffuser form but also beautifully created candles, and mist on home perfumes for linens. I was kindly sent a few candles and home fragrances to try out so let me share a few quick thoughts...
It's a well known fact that I love a good candle or two but the new L'Occitane Home Perfumes may just have swayed my opinion of such product forever. Slightly stronger and of course more luxurious than a typical air freshener, the new L'Occitane Home Perfumes gently scent the air and linens within a room creating a welcoming atmosphere. Within this line there are six scent options to choose from, I have: L'Occitane Welcome Home, Home Perfume (£18/100ml) and L'Occitane Rose Home Perfume (£18/100ml). Welcome Home is a bright yet comforting blend of verbena and crisp green notes, combined with a woody base of tonka bean to uplift and warm. The name really couldn't be more apt and I imagine it will be perfect for the long, cold and most likely wet Autumn/Winter evenings. For those that enjoy dusky, rose fragrances there is L'Occitane Rose Home Perfume - a light, almost powdery rose scent that is familiar and settling - a great cosy, suit all option.
For those who can't quite pass up a candle or two (you are in good company), then you may be pleased to learn that the new L'Occitane candles do not disappoint. Well sized (100g/£21), beautifully created, scented tin candles that can be re-purposed once the contents are dilapidated - what's not to like? For a relaxing night at home, or to unwind with I recommend the L'Occitane Lavender Scented Candle - a sleepy almost herbal scent that belongs on every bed side table. If you prefer bright, uplifting floral scents, may I recommend L'Occitane White Blossoms Scented Candle. A gorgeous infusion of Lilac, Lily of the Valley, Honeysuckle and Magnolia for a touch of Spring like freshness, even in the depths of Winter.
The other fragrances are: Verbena, Winter Forest and Candied Fruits - don't the latter two sound ideal for layering to create the ultimate festive fragrance? At least that is my plans.

I usually prefer candles too, but with owning cats sometimes something 'safer' like a diffuser is the best option. I should probably look into this!
