Can you believe that Birchbox turns five this month? No me neither, it doesn't seem all that long ago that beauty boxes where an invention of the future, never mind a monthly occurrence. To celebrate five wonderful years, this month's box is brimming full of must try products - some of which are fairly new launches! I've also been gifted the opportunity to give away a three month subscription to one lucky reader.
If you don't want any spoilers, I suggest you scroll to the end of this post to enter the competition otherwise let me share the contents of Birchbox UK September 2015...
I'm not sure if it is common knowledge or not but Paula's Choice skin care is finally available within the UK, you can shop a variety of products via Birchbox Shop - link, come pay day I will be treating myself to the range. In this month's box there is a 30ml bottle of Paula's Choice Skin Perfecting 2% BHA Liquid which will gently exfoliate the skin, brighten and of deeply cleanse. I'm excited to give this a whirl.
To keep oily skin under control there is a dinky little stick of Benefit The Porefessional Licence to Blot. Admittedly I am not the biggest fan of the full sized version of this product as I find it removes my make-up but the smaller, deluxe sample does allow me to target areas such as my forehead and nose with minimal make up removal or slip - great for stashing in a pocket or handbag. As an added bonus I accidentally discovered that this doubles up as a lip primer for matte lipstick!
If Summer hasn't been kind to your feet you can moisturise and gently exfoliate in one quick step, thanks to Bliss Foot Patrol AHA Exfoliating and Softening Cream. A thick, mint scented cream that cools, hydrates, deodorises and softens in one quick step - what more could you want?
Nothing quite saves space within a handbag quite like a dual purpose product, Laqa & Co Cheeky Lip Pencil in Humble Brag is the perfect matte, mid toned yellow pink shade that will suit all complexions and looks as great on the lips as it does the cheeks. Thanks to the chubby pencil style design it is a breeze to apply - even on the go and the cream based formulation does not dry out the lips nor complexion. A wonderful product to use everyday or have on standby for emergencies (I think I'm going to stash mine in my car's glove box?).
Lastly we have a Birchbox a de-tangling duo - Birchbox Best Hair Day Brush. A nifty, egg shaped, plastic de-tangling brush that makes light work of hair knots and snags, all while comfortable fitting into the palm of your hand (and bag for that matter). This is not available for individual sale which I oddly find exciting - I don't get out much ha! There is also a mini bottle of John Masters Organics Citrus & Neroli Detangler to help make styling and combing all the easier.
You can subscribe to Birchbox UK here for £12.95 a month - link.
