Five Beauty Brands You May Not Have Tried

As much as I love browsing the latest launches from beauty heavyweights, I equally enjoy discovering and trying lesser known brands - it is a cosmetic thrill that is hard to beat. I've recently stumbled across five brands that have quickly won me over. If you want to step out of your comfort zone and try something new here is five somewhat unknown brands to keep an eye out for, come your next shopping trip.

Five Beauty Brands You May Not Have Tried

Josh Wood - You may be aware of Josh Wood both as a person and as a salon franchise, not only is he known as 'the guardian of colour' with 30 years of experience but he has also won numerous awards too. If that is not enough the brand has the Vogue seal of approval. Well if you are looking to bring professional hair care home to nourish and cleanse coloured hair the Josh Wood line up is for you. With shampoo, conditioners, treatments for all hair types and in-between visit root touch up solutions there really is something for every head of hair - it is so easy to see why others rave about this brand. The good news is that the price point for the Josh Wood products is really reasonable £4 - £12.50, and that is for what I would deem to be a fairly luxury brand that delivers results. You can find the entire collection via M&S here - link.

Ameliorate - Admittedly a brand I have never heard of up until recently but if soft, supple and renewed skin is what you dream of, then this is the body care line for you. Ameliorate aim to resolve "chicken skin" - dry, raised, tiny pimples on the body by deeply exfoliating and moisturising without irritating the skin. I don't suffer from such problem at the moment but will say that the Ameliorate Body Polish is incredible, it contains exfoliating Lactic Acid with polishing micro-dermabrasion granules (no beads in-sight) combined with a multi-active moisturising complex. By doing so this scrub not only removes dry and dead skin from the top layer of the dermis but also beyond the skin surface too - meaning in theory the new layer of exposed skin will be softer and smoother too. If you want quick and instant results from a body scrub, as well as the addition benefit of hydration this is the product and range for that matter, for you. I can imagine Ameliorate products will be very at home in my shower this coming Autumn/Winter. You can find Ameliorate via Feel Unique with prices ranging from £10.05-£18.40 - link.

Exuviance - A range I first noticed while in Ulta and paid next to no attention to because hello sweet make-up heaven! I've recently put Exuviance Antioxidant Perfect 10 Serum to the test and have to say I am suitable impressed, it contains six antioxidants for anti-ageing purposes (it counters all 10 sources of oxidative damage, including free radicals, and allows the skin to repair existing damage). It also aims to prevent and repair skin inflammation as well as nourishing and hydrating - it is pretty clever and lightweight to boot. What I like most about Exuviance is that all the products have been dermatologist approved, which does make sourcing the hard to come by brand within the UK a little more worthwhile. You can find the Exuviance Antioxidant Perfect 10 Serum via Amazon - link.

Mio - If you have heard of Mio chances are it is due to the Kardashian's? Apparently Khloe Kardashian applies the above Shrink to Fit Cellulite Smoother head to toe daily! Mio is a brand that has been created to help all body types and needs; they don't promise the world but they do aim to produce products to combat most problems be it cellulite, sore muscles and of course dry skin. The idea is that combined with healthy eating and exercise Mio can help you achieve the body of your dreams. You can shop the Mio body care range via Look Fantastic here - link.

Prismologie - A concept come brand based around the senses; Prismologie aims to boost and set the mood using both colour reflexology and the power of fragrance. Each product has created to tap into the body's natural rhythm and compliment (or uplift) your mood. There are six colours/scents to choose from including white for clarity, yellow for confidence and red for vigour and much, much more. Rather intriguingly each product is not only 100% natural but science lead too. I won't pretend for one moment that the Prismologie products come cheap but they are delightful - I am obsessed with the above body polish, it smells heavenly (rich, heedy and deeply exfoliating). If you are looking to try a new, luxe and intriguing brand Prismologie is your next stop. You can shop the entire range via Space.NK with prices ranging from £30-£55 - link.
