With no word of exaggeration my favourite collection to look forward to each Summer has to be Estee Lauder Bronze Goddess for very specific reasons; one hello new bottle of Estee Lauder Bronze Goddess Eau Fraiche and two, I wonder what type of highlighter if any will be joining the line up. Well this year along with the regular Estee Lauder Bronze Goddess fragrance there is a shimmering body oil, an eyeshadow palette, a highlighter and so much more. Let me share my hand picked favourite items from the collection...
Estee Lauder Bronze Goddess Eau Fraiche £47 via House of Fraser - link.
Let's start with the fragrance selection shall we? The scent of Summer is back and as mentioned available in two forms: a body oil and a mist on fragrance. If you are unfamiliar with the delectable notes of Estee Bronze Goddess let me indulge a little. The best way I can personally describe it is to conjure up all the best and memorable aspects of summer: warm sand at the beach, ripe and creamy fruit, coconut scented sun tan oil and merge them all together - creamy, fruity and addictive. Bronze Goddess is ever so slightly citrus based due to the mandarin note yet fresh and never cloying thanks to the creamy and delicious hint of coconut - I never grow tired of it (five years and counting). Estee Lauder Bronze Goddess Eau Fraiche may be not be the longest wearing fragrance (if you layer with the body oil it does fair a little better) but nothing quite captures the essence of a sun drenched location like it. As you be aware some fragrances don't bode well with heat and often turn sickly (or worse sour) but not our beloved Estee Lauder Bronze Goddess Eau Fraiche. If you only pack one scent in your summer suit case let it be this!
Estee Lauder Bronze Goddess Shimmering Body Oil £29
Estee Lauder Bronze Goddess Shimmering Body Oil features the same heavenly scent but can be used on both the body and hair to inject moisture, a light shimmering glow and of course a trail of scent. Unlike some oils this is not at all greasy, very quickly absorbed and does leave the skin looking radiant. If ever there was a product to enhance a tan this is it - the teeny tiny glitter particles illuminate the skin without overwhelming. Think refined, glowing skin that smells great and feels silky smooth. Simply spray on and dazzle...well if you can get your mitts on a bottle that is. It appears to have sold out everywhere online but I did snag a bottle on counter a few days ago.
Estee Lauder Bronze Goddess Illuminating Powder Gelee £32 via Debenhams - link.
I adore highlighting products, especially gelee based powders - the texture is a dream to apply and seems to work really well with my oily skin and enlarged pores. Say hello to Estee Lauder Bronze Goddess Illuminating Powder Gelee; part highlighter, part bronzer, all round fabulous. The beauty of this product (shade aside) is the formulation, a slick gel like powder that effortlessly glides on the skin providing a glowing sheen to skin, forget shimmer or glitter particles this provides a natural lit from within glow without the need for either. The gel based powder is both cooling and long wearing, it doesn't settle into fine lines nor open pores and generally is very easy, not to mention comfortable to wear. Think dewy, softly lit yet radiant skin - what more could you ask from a highlighter? Unlike other products of this kind, Estee Lauder Bronze Goddess Illuminating Powder Gelee has a slight bronze tinge to add a little warmth to the skin. Personally I wouldn't use it in place of a bronzer due to the finish of the product but rather pair it with a brown tinged blush for an effortless sun kissed look. As a side note I would imagine that this would make a wonderful highlight for deeper complexions as it isn't at all stark in tone? At £32 it doesn't come cheap but I promise you will not be disappointed by the formula nor texture.
Estee Lauder's Bronze Goddess Shimmering Nudes Eyeshadow Palette £38.50 via Feel Unique - link.
Who doesn't love a good neutral palette? Every make-up stash should have at least one reliable neutral eyeshadow palette and they don't come much better than Estee Lauder's Bronze Goddess Shimmering Nudes Eyeshadow Palette. Not only does this beautiful palette feature five suit all shimmering eyeshadows (which can double up as a bronzing/blush brick should you wish) but it also contains three metallic pops of colour too. Personally I would purchase the palette for the three high-intensity metallics shades alone - the colour saturation is beyond description, soft, silken and dramatic. They can also be applied wet for an intense metallic finish and as a liquid eye liner, the golden shade also doubles up a stand alone highlighter. Not to be overlooked the five standard eyeshadows offer up warm, bronze day to night options that are well pigmented, easy to blend and when teamed with a primer long wearing. If space is sparse in regards to your make-up collection; be it for travel or not, this is a great all round palette that offers multi-use items that will see you through most occasions with ease. You will be hard pushed to find a harder working eye palette, that is for sure.
Would it be a little weird to say I'm already looking forward to Estee Lauder Bronze Goddess Summer 2016...probably as we've yet to finish Summer 2015 ha!
