Some fragrances take a little longer to win me over, as a matter of a fact some never gain my approval for several reasons - some are too sweet, some too floral and then there is those pesky scents that you simply don't like for no real reason. When I first tried out Calvin Klein Eternity Summer 2015, I wasn't utterly convinced it would be a fragrance I could enjoy let alone wear; fast forward a little over a month and it has become my go to recommendation for all looking for a mellow yet zesty fruity floral Summer scent.
"Eternity Summer Calvin Klein embodies the sensation of losing yourself in the beauty of the horizon where the expansive and endless sea flows into the colourful summer sky. The fragrance begins with the freshness of green pear brightened with a splash of dewy watermelon and juicy mandarin. the heart blossoms with lush peony petals, sweet blue hyacinth and vibrant water lily, then dries down to the seductive warmth of creamy sandalwood, soft white amber, and sensual musk."
I've seen Calvin Klein Eternity Summer Eau de Parfum described as a light, aquatic floral which is somewhat true but I think the bright, fruity notes of green pear and mandarin really shine through. It is bright, easy to wear and oddly invigorating, this is where the aquatic notes come into play. What I like most is that it is never overpowering nor obviously sweet or fruity yet it makes an impact and is long lasting to boot. In my opinion fans of Dolce & Gabbana Light Blue Eau de Toilette and DKNY Woman Eau de Parfum may want to try this out as I find them to be somewhat similar. It reminds me a little of being at the beach once the air becomes a little cooler and it is time to pack up and go home? A mix of sweet fruit (be it from beach vendors or ice pops), SPF and the sea breeze.
As a side note if you do test this in store and don't like it instantly, spray it on to a tester card and return to it in 10-15 minutes. Calvin Klein Eternity Summer Eau de Parfum is one of those scents that changes completely on dry down.
