Butter London Patent Shine 10X Nail Lacquer

Butter London have recently expanded their nail range with the addition of new and ultra glossy Patent Shine 10X Nail Lacquers. If you enjoy the original Butter London nail formula but crave something a little longer wearing and altogether glossier, then you may want to pop a few shades of the new Butter London Patent Shine 10X Nail Lacquers on to your wish list.

If you are familiar with the original Butter London Nail Lacquers then you will know what to expect in terms of packaging, the main difference is the chrome accents. As odd as it may seem I really like the shape of all Butter London polishes, they are so easy to hold and sit down on a table when painting the nails. I also like that you have the option of removing the chrome lid should you find this easier to manoeuvre the brush. Speaking of brushes the Butter London polishes each feature a small applicator which fans out to coat the nail evenly in one swipe, as it is fairly narrow it allows for precision and makes the whole process a breeze.

The newest Butter London formula aims to offer :
- Up to 10 days of wear
- Chip-resistant (it will depend on how hard you on your nails)
 - Salon colour coverage (they are far from sheer)
- Gel-like cushion finish and superior shine (they are thicker than normal in texture and do deliver a super glossy finish).
- Fade-resistant
- Strengthens nails
- Smooths nails (the thicker texture coats nail ridges)
- Prevents breakage and peeling
- Visibly brighter, more radiant nails (not sure how this is achieved)
- it is a 7-free formula, no formaldehyde, formaldehyde resin, DBP, toluene, camphor,
ethyl tosylamide, or xylene

Despite being a new expansion, the Butter London Patent Shine 10X Nail Lacquers come in a whopping 14 shades - this includes bright reds, nudes, pops of colour and muted grey hues. I kid you not when I say whittling it down to a few shades is near impossible. I have Flusher Blusher - a bright, mid toned pink, Jolly Good - a bright, sunny orange based coral and Broody - a deep, vampy wine red. All are equally beautiful and a dream to apply - the cream formula glides on to the nails with ease, is opaque in two coats and dries to a super, glossy finish without a top coat. At the moment I have gel nails so I had to skip swatches (unless you want icky feet photos ha!) but as you can see above they are really rich in pigment and not at all sheer. I like that Butter London Patent Shine 10X Nail Lacquers don't claim to be gel polishes (other than the cushioning claim), rather they seek to provide a super glossy, long wearing formula both of which it does.

In a long winded way I really wanted to say that the Butter London Patent Shine 10X Nail Lacquers are the closest I have come to achieving a gel effect manicure at home. I won't pretend that at £15 per bottle is cheap but it is well worth the investment - I am suitably impressed.
